@no-quarter Perhaps Beaudy has gone to the coaches and said he moved to Auckland and even Japan to get away from TJ, so on his chance to reclaim the 10 jersey, why is he being saddled with him?

Is the team still not named?? What the fuck is going on, I need to distract myself from work and team naming's have been great entertainment lately
The test is a day late and on WA time, the new normal is 1130 local - so whatever NZ time that is I guess (1530 Google says)

@derpus You really should make the Grumpy Old Men thread your home!
I'm still trying to work out if he is a troll or the old blindside that sits on the corner of the bar still suffering from too many head knocks.

TBH my brain just displays this instead of text on each of his posts:

Certainly taking the Broken Record award next Award-season.

@crucial this is what I see whenever he posts
Shit, I didn't even see your post when I posted my similar one a full 17 minutes later. Now I look like I'm just trying to ride your wave.

Reckon they will put him in because Scooter will be tempted to hit him high and it will be a 14 man AB effort once again
Love him or hate him I'd love to see Quade Cooper play again, even if off the bench.
At his best QC was like Carlos. Tbh at his worst he was also very like Carlos too! ... but I miss players like that, admittedly rather less so when Carlos was 10 in a tight AB game, then I wanted Mertz.
There's lots of AB potential there, I just haven't seen it all really click the way it used to pretty often 2005 - 2015 ... personnel, leadership, coaching all feel 1 or 2 notches down in ability and focus, a bit "colouring by numbers".
I do look at Dave Rennie and Wayne Pivac plus the 3 wise men and suspect that NH head coaching experience really can help at this level.
Scary if England could poach Scott Robertson which you'd think MUST be on the cards if Foster is renewed another time? I mean SR must be #1 or #2 on a shortlist to replace Eddie, have been sounded out at least, and they can certainly splash the cash.
With that bombshell ...

With the passage of time I become even more entrenched in my view that certain resumes have been padded by the benefit of working with Wayne Smith.

Nah not going to happen, Robertson knew what the likely result is when he signed until 2024, he has an out for 2024 if he doesn't get the ABs job. If he wants to break contract, and RFU want to terminate Eddie early, they'll have to pay big time - and they're broke by frittering all their cash away stupidly post RWC15

He was clearly an integral piece of the puzzle. GH was no slug either mind you. No coincidence the previous super rugby title the Blues won, GH was in the management team

So smart, smart enough to put his ego to the side knowing he's probably not the right head coach. I rate Henry fwiw.
Been a bit meh and dropped in terms of tactics and selection clarity since 2016. Looks a bit chummy then and now, too hard to get dropped. Too much flexibility positional flexibility for favoured players blah blah
ABs now seem a bit "we win with our superior AB skillz(TM) and dual-playmaker (TM)".
But really I'd prefer to see more ... "Sod a dual-playmaker(TM), we win with our brutal uncompromising edge and THEN crush them with the skillz(TM)"
Rant over, I'm new here, apologies to all offended

@landp LOL you need to work on your ranting, far tooo tame for here!
But I think a lot of people agree after the miracle year of '16 he stayed on too long. Original plan was to be there for the Lions, then go. Would've been ideal, Foster would've got his two years to RWC, failed just as badly as Hansen I'm sure. Then we would've a got a new broom. Instead we've got 4 more years, and I am sure we'll be samshed up front in an improtant game in the RWC, and still have no plan (that works) to defeat an uncompromising defence oriented team when they get in our face and our skillz(TM) aren't working.
Hope I'm wrong and we never lose another game ever and Fozzie is the second coming. But really think we're on a downward spiral of losing to Argentina type mediocrity

Not even sure if that's the case - no Barrett at blindside and Cane picking up daisys for one.

Yes, plus rebuilt a poor AB culture. Plus had the balls to stick around after a gut-wrenching 2007 WC loss, serious balls and must have been very very driven to do keep going tbh.
How do I rep on this forum??
