Hurricanes 2022

@stargazer yeah interesting. You’d think it would be a lot easier on their relationship if she stayed in Wellington. Who knows what the story is there.

Are they married? That would explain things

Being a fellow red head though means he will most likely keep picking JBlackwell.
Nah, even gingers hate gingers. Tito won't favour Blackwell.

@crazy-horse Like when you show a Siamese fighting fish a mirror.

Yeah, ginger Siamese fighting fish are that little bit feistier.

I don’t understand the hate that Blackwell gets. He’s a solid SR player regardless of his height.
Same with Prinsep. I get the argument that he shouldn’t start that often.. he’s not the most dynamic carrier but he gets through a lot of work on defence. A good squad option.
Is it mostly provincialism?
-
-
Maybe, but IWL has had a few issues on defence. I don’t think he’s shown enough to clearly pass a hard worker like Blackwell. The Canes need some glue players in the pack
I just find it weird. He’s one of the most criticised players and he doesn’t seem to warrant the criticism
-
@duluth Blackwell is a hard worker which you need, but I've lost count of the 1v1 tackles he's missed, the passes he's dropped cold and the lineouts he's been dominated in. He does plenty of good things aswell but he's one of those players that you just don't feel comfortable watching because you know an error is always just around the corner.
Having Bird there now may take some of that pressure off Blackwell because I understand he's the main shot caller in the Canes lineout, hence why he always gets selected. Hopefully having Bird as a partner will bring the best out of Blackwell.
I think we also need to look at someone like Taine Plumtree for the 6 jersey next year over someone like Prinsep, which will improve the lineout aswell. Not sure if he's been signed again by the Blues though.
-
Yeah those two guys should be selected ahead of him. But they weren’t options this season obviously.
It’s just interesting how much noise is made about him. I could understand if he was constantly shitting the bed, but he just seems like an OKish SR player.
-
@duluth I think Blackwell gets a lot of stick because he isn't the tallest of locks.
If the Canes sign Plumtree as a 6/lock along with Bird, Scrafton, Blackwell & Walker-Leawere then we are looking pretty good there for next year. Add in the tutelage of someone like Tito and that should be an area of strength in 2022.

Making some good progress recovering from the foot injury and surgery I had back in February in England, Chris Kemp from @iworkoutplan has put together a full work up for me leading into preseason with the @hurricanesrugby come late November… I couldn’t be happier with the results. If your looking for some guidance especially if your a front rower I recommend dropping him a message.
That explains why he isn't in any NPC squad.

I just heard Holland say that the Hurricanes have JGB coming back next season.
They have three 10s signed(Love, JGB and Morgan) and they're undecided if they'll bring in another 10. I got the impression that he sees Love as the first choice 10.
He mentioned that they still have 5 or 6 spots to fill.
He also said that Ardie has not signed for the Hurricanes yet, but is confident he will sign on.
