So, today wasn't terrible. Cooked a mean sourdough with fennel seeds, got outstanding oven spring.

Outside of house looking great - NZZP Jr1 and Jr2 pitched in and swept up, went well.

Weather cool, but hopefully improving. And I'm brewing tomorrow! Can't wait - smashing out 40L of a nice hazy to get us through home time.

Kia kaha people, enjoy the people around you, kick back, listen to some tunes and chill out.

    @kiwiwomble nice one.

Also, preseason NFL is on ... only a couple more weeks until it really kicks off!

more in line with your intent

yeah, not a bad day so far, up and went for a walk along the beach, grabbed a coffee and some bacon for breakfast, generally the vast majority of people were wearing masks who weren't having a coffee or running so i got home without too annoyed at the world

even now im having to work but im listening to the AFL and its warm/sunny enough to have all the doors open etc...could be worse

Nice one. It's as cold as it's been in Auckland - feels chilly outside, but heat pump is making good work of keeping us toasty.

Not long until Gin o'clock... maybe a sneaky beer first

So the recurring theme of your posts is that we will get through this - with large amounts of alcohol?

    Sounds good.

I did. Roots Gin from Marlborough is seriously good. Just grabbed a bottle of Bombay Sapphire though - was an old standby from years ago. Still tasty, just kinda bland next to modern gins.

May have to have delivery of 'essential gin' services this week.

Also, we'll ge tthrough whatever this is with gin, exercise and the Fern

    And 40 lt of hazy.

Wake me up when it's over. That is positive by the way, I like sleeping.

yeah, that's why the exercise is needed. I've had to be very deliberate about drinking this year ... turns out the run into Christmas with aprties and mental/emotional carnage leads to beer induced weight gain. Bought and paid for, but still not a long term play...

Watching back to the future with the sproglets. 35 years and it's hardly aged - a dead set classic.

I can verify the truthfulness of this.

    A decent cellar is a game-changer.

Yeah, lockdown free, so can go do whatever. 2kg of gammon in the slow cooker, to go with the in laws allotment veg tonight and tomorrow (spuds, butternut, french beans, African squash, carrots).

Popped out to the farm shop and decided to stop at homebase on the way, spotted some cordless mowers we've been thinking of getting so wandered over to have a look, discover they're all clearance as they're stopping supplying Ryobi and they've removed the batteries from the boxes (we already have batteries for other tools). So ended up getting a couple hundred quid of lawnmower for 50.

    Now, beer and rugby.

You should expand your horizons. Don't limit yourself. I've seen your GOM posts, there are people that deserve to be in your cellar.
