Bruce Gemmell was in there a year or two before Lyn Davis so he might be either number 37 or 38
Well played. He’s 37
-
Only 38 to go.
This player played both halfback and 1st 5
-
Played only 3 tests, but played 30 non-test games

Ian Stevens????
Bingo.
Great write up on Stevens here
Started one test vs Oz at halfback and played 1st 5 in his other two.
Stevens as a halfback had good all round skills, a swift pass and an accurate boot and a breaking ability round the fringes of rucks and mauls which made him one of the Wellington representative side's most dangerous attacking weapons.
But at national level his rise to an All Black spot was blocked by any number of talented contemporaries. Chris Laidlaw, Sid Going and Lyn Davis were only slightly older and in their prime from the late 60s through to the mid 70s.
Later, too, Stevens faced considerable competition for All Black places from Lin Coiling and Bruce Gemmell.
