I shower them with gifts, it’s just when I’m at the pub I have a habit of getting a really important phone call and having to leave when it’s my round.

Showering your kids with gifts when you are in the pub, is a packet of chips and a coke while they are locked in the car isn't it? Of course when it is your round you can "go check on the kids".

That might all just be my upbringing of course.

Summer holidays - an extended pub crawl round the north island. If you were lucky you'd get dropped at the local playground for a couple of hours other it was good ol Scrooge McDuck from 11-8 every day.
