Is Ken Laban moonlighting as McClutchie’s agent? Far out can you talk up a player anymore than he has done today?

    Yes, TJ and Bridge.

At least there is something to talk about when it comes to the Crusaders and All Black try scorer creator.

    FTFY

    Exactly. Plenty to talk about.

Otago backs have been found wanting today. Magpies dominating down that right side.

Sheesh, Higgins looks a bit slow for midfielder.

Otago (deservedly) punished for not making the scoreboard reflect their possession dominance in the first half

Passes shouldn't be ruled forward if they 'drift' forward

Lowe deserved that, he's played bloody well although mostly defensively until then.

Was Lowe originally a centre? He looks like a midfielder.

The triple feature was actually Hasting Boys for me … well the short before the main features.

Good win to the Tui though.

    We’ll shit

Had to go get some beers so only just finished

Colonial xpa by the way , nice

Injuries and playing people in new positions and we wonder why the back line does almost nothing from set price, all out breaks were from open play

I get so sick of hearing sio listed as this huge attacking threat by commentators…did nothing good…never has, only looks good when you have someone like Aaron smith firing balls into gaps for him, every set piece back line move died at 1

I actually like a lot of our team…but faddes is wasted on the wing and sio can’t create anything for the guys outside him, hell swap them and something might change

HB with a huge effort sucking up all that pressure in the first half…and leading at the break…and then just launching again

To make as many effectively try saving tackles in the first half (maybe 4?) and turn it around to a comfortable win takes some ticker, proud to have been born in the bay 😉

Where is Walker-Leawere for this match? Is he injured?

Didn't see him at the ground, or at least he was not amongst the hangers on during the warm ups.

Is there fake crowd noise? Sounds like Eden park when the bay make a break

Possibly, it was rather subdued where I was sitting on the Bank, aside from a group carrying on supporting chants in favour of the Magpies. There was very little vocal encouragement coming from the grandstands. I tried to instil a bit of encouragement but drew a scowl and an finger waving from one the the uniformed police officers that probably jammied their way in for free. Any further vocal support from me was slightly less salty in language!

Yeah I thought he played well, worked hard to get to rucks quickly, and only learnt 90 seconds before kick off that he'd have to play the full 80.

@delicatessen I saw Connor McLeod being helped by the physio back into the changing rooms as the team went back inside to complete whatever they do about 7 minutes prior to kick off. I can only summise that you must declare your matchday 23 to the referee and opposition maybe half an hour before kick off and any injuries etc after that time it is just bad luck and there is no provision for any late additions. Guess that must be to even things up for visiting teams who obviously would not have access to a third halfback for example that late in the game.

I think they said Kienan Higgins came on to the bench to replace him, which was why he wasn't wearing a number, so I assume the Magpies didn't have a halfback on hand.

    *Any relation?
