Otago are pretty bad for a super rugby base with a uni and a polytech ...
Not enough rugby players coming out of higher education, and not enough of them who care about doing that and playing footy.

They do, but I think they have the whole package set up well to add value while training to hopefully play for Canterbury and the Saders. So, Otago has that as something to add, but I guess my point is that the University itself doesn’t provide much of a pathway.

I cant say shit either because we had the option of buying near Canterbury or Dunedin. It was a relatively easy choice thinking about travel access, schools, activities, education, and the cost was similar.
So, if you are an outsider who isn’t planning to be a huge party-er at school, I can see why even if the landers have it all straight up, they’ll still struggle to get players over the Saders and others.
