Wouldn't just take Dan Carter ahead of Jonny Sexton, but would take Beauden Barrett and Aaron Cruden too

But Sexton wins the "Most Punchable Face Award" hands down.

    Aura's gone again......

'The aura is gone': Has Argentina's victory shattered the All Blacks mystique?

'The aura is gone': Has Argentina's victory shattered the All Blacks mystique?

Historically, the All Blacks haven't just been the strongest rugby team in the world - they've stood head and shoulder above the rest. Some are asking if that's still necessarily the case.

New Zealand head into Saturday’s second Bledisloe match as heavy favourites but Wallabies winger Andrew Kellaway might have given them some accidental motivation.

"In a scathing attack, Campese told Stuff that the ‘arrogance’ of New Zealand Rugby had set the All Blacks up for a fall, and that new coach Ian Foster wasn’t the right man for the job."

He might be right about that last bit.....

Campese should have some inside insight in noticing arrogance but for him to think Foster is not right for the job? Really? Has he not seen the man in interviews? Foster is always transparent about being better for the next game. A coach with fantastic hindsight. He sometimes even learns from disasterous positional switches. Possibly.

    @akan004

Interesting quote from Kellaway given the Wallabies are 1-0 down in a 3 match series they have to win outright.

"There’s no real pressure on our end."

So they were expecting to lose the series?

If they win they will be lauded. If they lose it will be the same as usual.
    No expectations.

Yeah. It's kind of counter intuitive as well.

"We don't expect to win because you have this Aura, which we deny, but WTF we'll go out and have a crack. Nothing to lose ay?".

If we don't have Aura surely you back yourself, or even expect, to win? I don't get it.

Is it that hard to understand? He's making two points.

    1. Nobody expects us to win, so we have nothing to lose.

    2. The new players have never played the ABs before, and they hold a certain mystique in the minds of new opponents (an 'aura', if you will). But now he's played them, he realises they are flesh and blood like the rest of us, and if you tackle them they fall down! Funny that. Now they aren't so scary anymore.

Well there either is an Aura or there isn't and it isn't just new opponents that face it. many players in the Wallaby squad have an extremely low success rate against us.

He may feel less nervous about facing the AB as it isn't his first match, and I strongly suggest that they knew that if they tackled us we would fall down.

@snowy He's saying for him there was an aura, but now he's played them that's worn off.

I'd suggest our low success rate has less to do with aura and more to do with New Zealand's players being better at rugby than Australia's.

Ok, what I don't understand though is these blokes play NZers all the time - why did the Aura wear off only after he played the ABs (or have I misunderstood the comments?)

I think there's a difference between playing NZers and playing the All Blacks. On a psychological level at least.
