This is so fucking stupid - this idea of Japan as a place of ‘dance’ is fucking ridiculous.
Literally a place where dance clubs are outlawed!
When do the Harajuku girls turn up?
Actually, we wanted the rockabilly greaser dancers - fuck, if you are going to rip off ‘alternative’ Tokyo at least do it right!
And those fluffybunnies are socially distanced too.

The us just snuck past China to finish top.
Pretty historically bad performance by their track and field team. Be interesting to see if they bounce back or if the rest of the world are closing in. Maybe covid19 was especially disruptive for their preparations? Didn't seem to hurt the UK though.

The USA were miles ahead, they always use total medals, so fucking smashed it again!

Yosokoi dancers
Thank you muchly, my new fave thing! Cheese, grace and ham-style dancing, kind of like summer camp for not quite out samurai aerobics and super cute sergeant-majors
edit: my only criticism, too many dicks on the dance floor.

i havent read the whole thread, have we talked about the Russian Olympic Committee? thoughts? does it undermine the ban to allow them to compete under a very slightly different name

Looking way ahead to Brisbane 2032, what's the chances we will see some form of cricket and netball? And possibly League, although that's highly unlikely.
Beach rugby would be a great addition....
And beach cricket

mud wrestling.
100 metres hurdles after a shoey. -
I expected the US and Australia to offer more cash for medals. I guess thats what happens when you win so many it becomes commonplace

What level of funding do they get prior to though?

I'm sure they get a shitload. And it's not like that money goes straight in the NZ athletes' pockets, whereas I'd imagine the aussies and yanks get to keep theirs. Some of those other countries certainly pay well. No wonder the Italian high jumper was happy with his gold

It would be great if netball was added. But, I think any new sport added now has to be gender equal. So, it would have to come with men's netball. Which would probably reduce its chances to zero - as it isn't a particularly internationally deep/competitive sport even on the women's side. But is pretty much zero on the men's.
Which is a shame.
In the real world netball is going to appeal as a potential path to about 95% more female athlete's than boxing and weight lifting. But, probably painted into a corner on this one.

why not mixed? all the social indoor netball ive played was mixed, there are plenty of bike that could get up to speed
could we see them try and get some sort of AFLX as an exhibition...apparently its played more than you think, there's a european league and everything...only competing for silver of course
