Olympic motto - Higher, faster, but not too stronger
if being knocked out gives you a medal, I've got a chance!
That seems harsh on the guy who kicked him out, he did walk into it a bit....
True but I reckon I'm good enough to wave my hands around aimlessly and make a hash of trying to kick him.

I was trying to say I feel bad for the guy who got DQed. I agree you could present a viable target

I told you that, whatever the ferk it is, is shit. The only memorable thing was that tidy bit of Ukrainian delight.

Ludicrous.
apparently it's meant to be touch, and KO is automatic DQ. So ... soudns technically correct according to the experts on Reddit

Still ludicrous. No wonder people consider it a joke.

Pretty hard in a fast full contact sport

Lucky it wasn’t like that in prize fighting back in the day or else Rocky Marcianos record would have read 6-43 instead of 49-0.

it's not a full contact sport in this form, though. It's a skill competition/demonstration as far as I know.

But at that speed it must be difficult to keep control of your force.

Sounds like Steven Seagal trying to justify his badass martial arts skills.

I'm not defending them here, just sharing what I understand. It seems to be in the rules - if you're not pulling your punches/kicks, you're not in control, and you get pinged for it.

Very practical too. Nothing will show a bunch of muggers who’s boss like a pulled punch or chop. They’ll admire the discipline and self control and run for miles.

Me neither. Just saying. I saw a bout in the lighter class where a guy executed the same kick and got the opponent in the mid section. No problem there. This guy ducks into a good kick and wins a medal for his trouble. Sounds like tackle rules in rugby!

Seriously, how do you screw up a baton change at this level?
The higher the level, the faster you're going, so the less room for error.
You see far fewer baton change fuck ups at club/amateur level, simply because they're moving much slower.
It’s their job FFS
