That team is going to fucking spank us. Where is Jordie on the wing? Akira Ioane at 6? Brodie Retallick back.

    Ballsacks.

Alright @Derpus what are we going down by? Auckland will be overcast and dry (for Auckland) around 13C at kickoff.

    I'll say ABs 53-12 Wobs.

The old reverse jinx eh? I noticed you doing that in the final French guys b4 you guys finally won.

Right after we got nailed for a red card in the 5th minute. And we scraped it against a French second- or third-string team who should have had a 2-0 win at that point.

jesus, it's like they make a couple of decisions just to fuck with the public. It all looks so good, and then we end up with fucking Ardie at 8 again. And seriously, if DMac's last test didn't play him out of the spot, then it is impossible to get dropped from the ABs

We are desperately short at fullback.

What did DMac do so poorly in his last test?
Serious question as I’m trying to remember. Even went back to the thread to see if it was just me forgetting things.
Sure the DMac v JB debate continues with merit and there are fairly valid concerns on the overall size of the backline (that shouldn’t have to be fixed by the 15).
There are also the old perceptions of headless chook play based on previous years that haven’t been shaken.
I remember the amazing chase back, tackle and turnover but that’s about it.

    that's the one highlight.

made errors, complete non-entity on attack.

    we lack a great fullback.

Just seemed an over the top comment that’s all.
Until one 15 really stands out he’s in the mix.
I do think that DMac and RM play the swapsies game better than any of our other combos so if that’s the coaches attack plan then that’s probably why he’s there.

not really. had a very poor game. doesn't have the accrued brownie points to cash in. lucky to get the next gig. Even if his replacement is no more tried.

One kick out on the full, 3 turnovers conceded, and 11 total metres (2nd worst back by metres, I think).

He did apparently beat two defenders and get away one offload, plus that fantastic chase and tackle, but overall he was poor in his contributions.

Thanks for backing up the sentiment. The match thread didn’t seem to be too worried at the time.
As I said I didn’t recall him having a horror so was trying to understand the comment that he played himself out of the team.
To be honest though it wasn’t a game made for him. All of our tries were scored from 15 metres out. Just watched the highlights tape and in Reece’s second DMac drew two defenders to leave Sevu unmarked. In Jordan’s try he was running a second hole in case Jordan’s run didn’t get through and in the build up to another he took us from a static position to a metre out stepping through two defenders.
I agree that the position is still debatable just don’t see him as the worst option.

@tim he's still very young (just 22). Showed promise in Super - was up and down vs France.

I'd be looking to expose Kellaway and Banks out wide.

Petaia vs Rieko should be a good clash.

@kiwimurph Didn't realize he was that young. Doesn't look ready for test rugby, and Swinton was better.

If our frontrow wasn't so average we would do that pack.

Our second row is probably not the most powerful IMHO.

The ABs backs are a class or two up, IMO. If they all play to potential.

That must be one of the most bah humbug frontrow ABs and bench props since um ever-ish.
Ardie was great at 7 last game and a so-so 8. There are better options and this is a Bled. I don't have confidence the coaches know who their best players/combos are.
DMac so-so at FB. I prefer JB, thought he was solid and that is his best AB position so far, by far.
I won't mention halfbacks, will just put some old tears for fears on in the background.
I'm expecting some tricks and dirty rough stuff from Rennie's gold and greens and some musty dry powder from our side.
Where are our matchwinners? I'm guessing we'll rely on improv from DH again..
