First time watching football since the 2014 FIFA World Cup final. Pretty decent game, second half was exciting and the shootout was crazy intense. Glad the poms lost after claiming it was "coming home" since they made the qualifiers.
Indeed, shit like that plus the behaviour of their fans makes virtually any neutral want them to lose.

Neesh should focus less on comedy and more on getting back in the Black Caps test team.
Why? There is strength in having not every player multi format.

@victor-meldrew jesus you lot are weird tonight, first @bones now you. I'm off to sulk.
Displacement activity. I'm actually gutted for Southgate and his team. They seem to have something quite special about them.
Don’t get too upset. There’s still another 55 years.
Well, I'm not a huge follower, but like Southgate. A lot of football managers come across like Clive Woodward. He come across as a decent bloke like Ian McGeechan or Heineke Meyer

Yeah it was a bit tongue and cheek although if I’m honest it does frustrate me as I think he could have been a brilliant test all rounder. Then again I thought the same of Guptill based on some of his bigger test innings…..
Sorry to any Italian posters for the thread hijack.

it's fair to say Lygon Street in Melbourne is going off.
Probably can’t utter a sentence in Italian between them.

@kiwiwomble And to think I was actually coming around to a potential England win. These arseholes don't deserve their team.

that last bit actually made me a bit sick, dude is literally on the ground protecting his head and getting kicked
was that breaking in to watch the game?
That footage was part of what we were shown at halftime. So, yeah, I'd guess hooligans broke in, no tickets/seat, milling about the concourse causing trouble.

do you mean the shitbag fans or Southgate being connected to a penalty shootout backfire?
-
You do have to wonder how penalty shoot outs have got into the England psyche.
7 and 0 in knockout tournaments. Some of the fans may be dickheads (we've all got them) but that is actually a likeable team and it must be tough to take.
Absolutely, but thankfully most dickhead fans are keyboard warriors. England take it to the absolute worst level.
I would absolutely hate to be a cafe/bar owner in any European town when England are there to play an important game. Win, lose or draw you can pretty much guarantee your establishment is in severe danger of being fucked up.
