You'd be so gutted if you're a Philly fan. Because you're almost certainly trading Simmons now, and you're only getting 30c on the dollar for him. All that after the years of the Process.

Simmons is copping shit, and rightly so. But they all failed the test. Embiid needed to step up and carry the load, but he kept making incredibly frustrating decisions - taking deep 2s instead of taking it to the basket, giving away soft turnovers including one in crunch time.

Tobias Harris also needed to do more when the heat was on.

Embiid needed to be the alpha male, like Jimmy Butler was a few seasons ago. But I wonder if he's got it in him.

    @barbarian he’s 7’2 and he’s shooting fadeaways. You ain’t Dirk mate…

Ben has lost all confidence on the offensive end. Once he passes the ball to the wing or whatever he’s a passenger. It wasn’t always like that but he’s had a very poor season offensively. Defensively he is still all-NBA.

Happy for the Hawks. They made those moves last season and added one or two others and have a decent unit.

    Bucks in 4.

ESPN reported that Simmons’ 34.2 per cent free-throw percentage through the postseason was the worst in NBA history from a minimum of 70 attempts.

If the rumours were true the 76ers should have traded Simmons to Houston for Harden. He's gone from a centrepiece player to a defensive role player in one series

@act-crusader yep I'm pretty sure I was talking about Atlanta at the start of the season when i said that I didn't see their off season moves as being much of anything, or words to that effect. Happy to be proven totally wrong on that one.

Simmons to OKC for Kemba + some picks. Both players are on max salaries that are way higher than their present value.

@voodoo said in NBA Season 20/21:

Joel Embiid: "I'll be honest. I thought the turning point was when we — I don't know how to say it — is when we had an open shot and we made one free throw..."

    Wow

He goes on to say they then didn't defend well, and acknowledge he also then turned the ball over, but in isolation he totally threw Simmons under the bus. I think Simmons is in trouble in Philly and will also be moving in with his uncle and aunty in Bel Air...

Playoff P misses two free throws at the death so the Suns go up 2-0 on a great Monty Williams inbound play, Ayton dunking a lob with 0.8s left. CP3 and Kawhi both didn't play again.

@tewaio another dramatic finish. Some of the review delays are killers though.

Paul likely back for the road trip but probably not Kawhi

@tewaio Ice Trae was must watch TV.

When you need a 3 in money time, I don’t think you want Pat Connaughton shooting for glory. Especially when he had 4 points for the game and had only shot the ball 5 times up until that point.

Where’s the play for Jrue? He was 5 for 12 from 3 and had hit a couple of tough ones. Not a great finish for the Bucks and it was the lesser experienced Hawks that showed the composure.

The Hawks are punching so far above their weight and it doesn't seem like they feel the need to stop.

Giannis imploring his team to get to their heads in the game after the shimmy 3 from Trae was a bit of drama. TGF was pissed at that shimmy lol.

Trae went from a kid who was too small for the league, to potential rookie of the year. Then an all star, an all star that pulled his middling talent team into the playoffs. Now he's the man who took his team of developing talents past 2 of the most hostile and massive market teams back to back. He is a super star. No other way to describe him.

I always thought of him as a poor man's Luka with no rebounding given he's half a foot shorter. But he has really blossomed these playoffs.

That's a new one to me. You usually hear him being compared to Steph Curry.

I've read some bullshit about how these playoffs suck because all the "big names" of the past 10 years are all out

boo fucking hoo. Move on idiots

The reason they aren't there is some of the young lads are standing up. Trae Young is balling. Booker is driving the Suns forward. Then you have TGF trying to get the Bucks over the line. And that's without naming guys like Paul, George, and Leanard

oh but it's shit because LBJ isn't playing. And the finals are gonna be hosted in unusual cities. Fuck off.

Also, this "unprecedented injury" shit can fuck entirely off. The Raptors won a championship because two superstars went down at the same time. How healthy were the Heat by the Finals last year? Old guys get hurt more, or guys with a history of injuries get hurt more should not be a headline.

The Clippers win game 3 at home. This series could go 7.

    Absolutely, fuck those guys.

There are four teams left and I'm happy for three of them to win.

Of the three, I'd like to the Bucks to go all the way most, I guess. I'm not sure, because Phoenix are pretty fun too, and Trae is fucking wicked to watch when he is on.

More because they have been vying for the title of "best young player in the NBA" for the past 2-3 years. And they are the same draft class, having been swapped between teams on a draft day trade. And they are both PGs albeit very different styles.
