The Chiefs Rugby Club’s Kotahitanga award for Outstanding Contribution was awarded to Paul Galletta for his outstanding commitment and work ethic he has demonstrated for the Club. Galletta, the Gallagher Chiefs Assistant Manager, delivered over and above his job description and was credited as the worthy recipient of the award. “Paul, or to most known as Shaver, has been immense for the club. His hard work behind the scenes has not gone unnoticed and this award is recognition of his commitment to his job.”

I was only listing 3 key players mentioned in the season review, the other being Weber.
I would expect Harris and Lowe to be retained. Mafileo signed a 2-yr deal.
With NZR or the Chiefs? As I recall it, he signed a two-year contract, served one year in the Blues squad and the second with the Chiefs.

@stargazer Chiefs according to this.
After six seasons with the Auckland team, an opportunity presented itself for Mafileo to move south, in what was a virtual swap with All Black Nepo Laulala, and he signed a two-year deal at a Chiefs club where his younger brother, Tevita, had played as an injury replacement in 2019.

Google says Ah Kuoi is off-contract but appeals as the 3rd lock in the squad as Lord continues to develop.
McWhannell would have to be lucky to get a new contract given he has been injured for 3 years. Hopefully he is fit and ready to go for Waikato. If the Chiefs don't sign Finau someone else will.

Someone said in the Blues thread that the Chiefs have signed Sam Nock I think. I think I feel good about that.
I said it wouldn't be bad signing but I'd pick him to go Saders or Moana Pasifika.
McWhannell should not be signed, we should keep Finau and Ah Kuoi ahead of him. If he goes onto be an AB after getting healthy, that's too bad.

Moana Pasifika.
Are they actually going to be a real franchise next year or in 2023?
Very little evidence of them signing anyone for next year.
Good question, but assuming that they are going to play, they'd make an interesting destination for players who aren't quite getting the chances they should/could get (Nock, Joane).
