Cricket 2021: NZ in England and WTC Final

Does anyone here think a SINGLE fan would have declined to watch England at Edgbaston if Robinson was playing?
I would doubt it very much. The whole thing has now escalated with the culture secretary and then Boris suggesting (quite rightly IMO) that the suspension is totally over the top. The trouble is this has now given the whole issue a new set of wings and more people are weighing into it. The suspension has been handed down, just let it lie and allow Robinson to get on with his life and his career.

A second non-compliant English cricketing twit has been uncovered..,
Doesn't Kane Williamson have an embarrassing social media post from when he was like 13 years old? Not of the racist or sexist variety.

I've had so little interest that I don't even know what he said. It was years ago, he has shown remorse.
What a load of bollocks. Somebody will probably shame me in a decade or so for saying bollocks on a public forum, but they can get fucked.
You're right but you should see some of the sanctimonnious bollocks that has been spouted by people such as Michael Vaughan, Aggers and Mark Ramprakash with Vaughan suggesting that Robinson needs to be re-educated. What a good idea, perhaps we could have some camps built specially for this purpose.
Oh and the irony of punishing someone on inclusivity grounds by non-inclusion.

Oh and the irony of punishing someone on inclusivity grounds by non-inclusion.That's what I was getting at. It's all so pathetic that I haven't read it.
I shouldn't laugh about re education camps, but will admit to a snigger.

Where was this? Listening to TMS Vaughn's position seemed to be that in the current climate some penance has to be paid publicly just to end the issue - but he didn't think a suspension for something a decade ago was warranted. His main criticism was of the England media management who he believes should have vetted his social media when he was selected. Maybe he changed his views.
Agnew seemed to be steering clear of the issue - likely still on a good behaviour bond at the BBC after giving Jonathan Liew a talking to.
-
Aggers, Vaughan and Ramprakash had articles on the BBC website, can't find Vaughan's now and his was the most OTT - as I said, suggesting that Robinson should be re-educated. Aggers was more reasoned but when stating that it was obvious that Robinson was, at the time of his tweets, a teenager with his own problems, still wanted him hung out to dry. Ramprakash was piling into Boris saying that his comments were "unwelcome". FFS unwelcome to whom? What does that even really mean?

It's all so fake. They know as well as anyone else it's a load of crap, but they are covering their own asses by making sure the woke know they won't tolerate it for a second. They are all fucking spineless.

What makes it worse, if thats even possible, is they are ruling out one of their best performers from the Lords test. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.
With a bit of luck someone digs in Virats social media past and finds something that can get him ruled out of the WTC final..

The Indian cricket board would do squat if that happened

A bunch of has beens ( or in Ramprakashs case a never was ) trying desperately to stay relevant. Pathetic.

Re England's non acceptance of the declaration challenge. Yeah sure Root can do whatever he wants but maybe, just maybe, he shouldn't have been talking himself and the team up less than a week earlier - We are going all out to wing all 7 tests this summer.
Didn't realise 'all out' meant feebly making no attempt at all to chase a very generous declaration.
England need a new captain IMO. Root's never been up to it. He seems incapable of making a decision on the field and has hardly led by example.

Added 20 years to his age by the looks of him too.

@dogmeat agree completely, their effort indicated a lack of leadership. Root said afterwards they wanted to see how things played out before deciding if they would go for the total, instead of making a call on how he expects their batsmen to play. It's little wonder the young players went completely into their shell with no clear direction.
