@kiwimurph Played one game for Otago in 2019 and 7 in 2020; all off the bench (a total of 97 minutes).
Was listed for the first NZU20s camp in Christchurch in December 2019 and was named among the trialists for the March 2020 camp.
So he's very, very green.
-
@Stargazer @Kiwiwomble thanks! Will be good to see how he goes - hopefully he gets a few minutes.

yeah, hes got some games for the Bravehearts too so think he's up to 20mins at the end
edit: he should also be comfortable with that backline including Collins, Ioane, Nareki Sio etc

No aaron smith, is this an AB rest thing?
More of a "let's only win by 30" thing.
-
@kiwiwomble bullshit. It'll be another towelling. And you all know it!

@kiwiwomble Probably the same as the Crusaders having to rest Mo'unga (and other teams having to rest players with a lot of minutes on the clock). Although there are no All Blacks rest protocols this year, they still have to take care of player welfare.
Crusaders article mentioned ABs max 4 games in a row, SRA was ok cos of bye, TT not. Could be bollox though.
Edit. Yup bollox cos jordie is starting his 12th in a row for canes

What's the story on James Arscott?
He has a funny name.

Is NMS injured again? Him and Squire were awesome signings.
no, NMS has been named to play for East Coast, make me think his contract was only until the end of SRA or something and we're not interested in resigning him
-
@kiwiwomble When they signed him, it was for the remainder of the 2020 season and for the 2021 season. So that will be the entire 2021 season, because 1) they would have specified if it was only for one part of the season, and 2) they didn't know at the time there would be two separate comps.
-
@stargazer i just wasn't sure that if SRTT wasn't confirmed then it might have had an actual date to allow him to make other plans rather than just the end of "super rugby whenever that is"
just seems weird we'd let him go play for someone else when we're still pretty light on in the back due to injures
-
@taniwharugby I don't think Squire is even part of the Highlanders SR T-T squad.
-
@kiwiwomble I think they see it as similar to releasing someone to play club rugby.
-
@stargazer dont know if East Coast should take that as an insult
