@canefan I think Elle has always been hawt. A mate of mine was a neighbour of her and Mimi, when they were teens. Cronulla I think. He seemed impressed.
When people talk about the girl "s" next door I'm not sure that the ambition is quite that high for most boys.
Actually she hasn’t apparently. Met a guy who went to school with her. She was tall and gangly and his friend actually rejected her advances. No doubt he’s been punching himself in the balls ever since.
Reminds me of a young lady I went to school with who was a pretty good distance runner. Tall, gangly. Stopped running and filled out after graduating. Holy shitballs.
Punching yourself in the balls?
Also knew one like that. Just a gorgeous girl. Died of leukemia at about 22. Apologies for the downer but a real looker when she filled out a bit. She was also a really cool chick.

Mila Kunis
The Mask/Something about Mary era Cameron DiazGreat call on Alba. In her prime she was as close to perfection as you can get.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but mentioning Debbie Harry made me think of another band I saw - Heart in 1980(?) in Seattle. The Wilson sisters were babes.
But Ann, mate, if you're reading - What. The. Fuck happened? Just how many pies did you eat?
Anne and Nancy in leather. Probably @Snowy's version of heaven
I don't even need to comment on this one:

Little did he know
Yes. Wouldn't have liked his chances even then though. He owns, and flys, his own corporate jet, owns a helicopter company and has a lovely wife. My sympathy levels on him missing out on Elle are low.
He could have dined out on that for life
Ummmm - Elle was very tall, outrageously stunning and did not mind showing that off, for which I liked her a lot. I see young Elle is now 56. She had a real touch for capitalising on her glamour in many successful business ventures.
Little sister was not so well equipped - Mimi was active between here and the Sunshine Coast, got a lot of starts as the front page feature but none of them lasted. The popular opinion was that she was not as focused, not as naturally talented and easily distracted by the social in crowd / hangers-on of the day. We were aware her big sister looked after her financial welfare over the years.
Years ago - Sydney Olympics time - a good and honest childhood friend of one of the wives heard the fellas going nuts over Elle at some family social event. She worked at Very Famous International Sydney Hotel and rarely commented about it. I overheard her say to the effect that, as a regular guest, the staff did not like her so much because she was very messy / untidy.
It emerged that they were amused by what they read vis-à-vis what they saw, of the stream of well known, well heeled corporate leaders who would call in for a personal visit when she was in town. For a coffee of course.
That's the nature of life at the top. US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger made germane comments about the impacts of power. I came across examples of the reality during my career at the top and was often a bit taken aback, quietly surprised. I am pleased I was conditioned as a naive kid from the suburbs, life is so much less complicated.

It's not a great look is it? Well actually it is, depending on how you perceive it. As a sex toy? I reckon that is going to sell.

Catherine Zeta Jones circa Entrapment was way hawt
Have a mate who has met her and is strangely unimpressed. Reckons that in the flesh she isn't all that, but agrees that she looks amazing on screen, and very photogenic. He could just be a fussy prick of course.
I bet there are lots of celebs who don't look nearly as good in real life without all the pro makeup and air brushing. Elle is not one of them. My sister met her in passing at Paris airport, said she was taller and skinnier than she expected. Ended up coincidentally sitting behind her in business on the same flight. It smells the hair.....
I met Jodie Kidd at a polo event in Cardiff
Lovely woman, no airs or graces, but in real life the symmetry of her face made Picasso look like a documentary painter.
Beguiling for it though, and I guess that was her appeal in the modelling world.

Not a bad yarn but it’s pretty tough to beat a quartet of Jerome Kaino, Liam Squire, Joe Moody and Damien McKenzie
Definitely. You couldn't discuss the really important stuff in life - like playing to the new breakdown rules - with Joanna Lumley.
That must have been an great occasion.
