Hurricanes vs Force

I knew it! Fewer Shield Snorters instead of more. F*ck, even Flanders doesn't get a chance to play in front of his home crowd.
Instead of Toala, Vince Aso gets his first game time.Bloody geez, that f*cking incompetent lot has totally lost any touch with their local support base.

@stargazer i knew this would piss you off.
Yeah fairly ordinary from the Canes coaches but I guess they are consistent with poor selections.
-
@stargazer Don't forget if the whispers I hear around the traps down here that the Hurricanes might just be the away team are true they probably feel no moral duty to play guys from the HB region on the very ground that they play their NPC on. In fact they are probably doing it deliberately so they can pee off the local fans so much that they do not turn up in decent numbers which they can them trumpet as another reason why they do not take home games up there.

I wouldn't normally advocate for people to support the Crusaders, but considering your fandom of them:

About as good as the Canes can put out with their current cattle.
Not sure why all the tears about Flanders. He's hardly set the world alight with his play like Sotutu did last year for the Blues. I'd also be hesitant to start have a loose forward trio without a worker in there. Could argue for Flanders over Evans but Evans form pre injury was better than Flanders is now. Flanders does look an All Black in waiting but hasn't quite been able to stamp his authority on a game yet.
Good to see Savea back. Hopefully he finds the form he had in the match where he picked up his injury rather than the games before that.
Hopefully IWL has spent the week off working on using he shoulders in the tackle rather than his typical jersey pulling style (also missed quite a few tackles in his last start). He did show good soft hands on attack though.
I'm not sure why they're bothering with Laumape. He's off so that might as well leave him out of the 23 and look to the future.

@stargazer Thrush to provide plenty of niggle against his old side. Canes should be far too strong when you compare both sides.
-
@canes4life just like a certain 10 from HB
-
@stargazer sounds fairly straightforward as to why Flanders wasn’t selected. I remember him cramping up in that game against the Rebels so probably needs a rest.

He must have done that at the Highlanders as about the closest he would probably have been to Rugby League Park would Porirua Park on one of his sojourns south as part of a HB team to administer their annual pantsing to their Wellington counterparts.,

Looks like the Canes will be in their away jerseys tonight going from their instagram.

@canes4life Not surprising as 1) apart from the last time they played in Napier they have generally disrespected the good folk of HB by playing a home game in their away jersey and 2) The good oil doing the rounds says it is actually a home game for the Force thus the Hurricanes are obliged to use their awful away strip.
