We may need a new thread for just boxing maybe as there seems to renewed interest....

Anyway Anthony Joshua seems like a very intelligent young fighter.

Its official boxing is still a joke at heavyweight level. Parker is now ranked number 1 contender with WBO yet he has never ever fought anyone in the top 20, Look like next fight after Christchurch will be against Joshua because they will need to fight eachother to decide who the mandatory will be for Fury or Klitchsko.

Quite unbelievable - For the record GO PARKER! - but genuinely worried this is too much too soon

I'm surprised the Bronze Bomber and the Real King Kong aren't in the convo for a title fight

The rankings have always been a mystery and I suspect rigged in the best interests of the sanctioning body,

Duco have been banging on about Joshua for some time ,

Joshua mentions Joseph only a few days ago as a good likely opponent ,

WBO promote Joseph up the rankings ,

All a bit of a coincidence ? I dont think so ,

I reckon all 3 parties are interested in making the fight happen

So a sheikh made an offer for Fury to fight Klitschko on a yacht for $120M. Each of the 120 guests would have paid $1M for a ticket and the fight would not have been broadcast on TV.

I really do not believe the story for a second. What it does is it creates hype around the future PPV. Heavyweight boxing is a circus through and through. Its not for the purist at all.

Yeah rankings by each sanctioning body is manufactured to create what can then be claimed big fights

Joshua fighting JP as ranked say 10 and 15 does not make as much noise and cash as 1 & 2 contenders.

joshua just made short work of Martin , stopping him in the second, looked impressive without doing a lot , because he didnt really need to, comfortable win in second gear.

Yeah you wont win an easier world title in the heavyweight division than that one. Does create some exciting hype for future fights though

Pretty interesting listening to the post fight chat afterwards ,

Speaking about possible opponents for Joshua , they rattled off plenty of names , but not a mention of the Joseph Takem winner ,

Duco are talking it up like its a done deal , somehow Im getting the impression that is more based around hope ,

Anthony Mundine was a mandatory to Floyd Mayweather for some time , that fight was never going to happen in a million years

That may be so, but no denying Joshua's skill in dispatching him.

I can't see Klitschko losing to Fury twice.

So Joshua v Klitschko somewhere down the line for me.

I couldn't see him losing to him once....but the fact is he is getting old so in my opinion faces the age old question that heaps of guys on the verge of being past it face.......

I think Furey has his number

See it being another slow boring fight.

Furey won't be keen on AJ or Haye for awhile prob more keen to fight Wilder as he sloppy suits Furey more

I know bugger all about boxing. But how is Martin a bum? Doesnt he have a very good record?

What is the issue with him? Apart from being smacked by the same 'simple' punch 20 seconds apart?

Wladimir threw that last fight, its about money not legacy and his PPV numbers were dropping like a rock. Smartest play he could make to milk it a few more PPV events. Losing to the mega-mouth Fury. He will clean him up next time earning more respect in the long run also.

Yep, not sure how he won the IBF title in the 1st place. I think it's more a case of the Joshua camp doing their homework. Martin seemed to lean in with his right jab and leave himself open to the Joshua right hook. I'm sure he's had this before, but maybe Joshua was a bit quicker than he has expecting
