Radio reports a large skirmish between spectators at Wellington College during the College Old Boys-University v Marist-St Pats game after OBU scored a try right on full time to win 20 - 18. Not the first time spectators from the MSP club have been involved in skirmishes recently. No doubt more details will emerge over the next short while.
Everyone is being very tight lipped about this one but there is no doubt that something did happen. Even more disconcertingly is reports of other incidents referred to in this article https://clubrugby.nz/wp/2021/05/10/bond-banter-10-may-news-in-briefs-and-some-rugby-information-to-start-the-week/

@higgins agree wholeheartedly, this is pretty disgusting.
Hutt Old Boys Marist’s Premier 2 side got off the mark on Saturday, toppling Norths at Onepoto Park. Helping their cause was nearly 600 games of Premier rugby in 200-gamers Nick Risdon and Simon Malaeulu, and 175+ from Alexis Time.
These are all old team mates of mine, what next...Marty Wallis and Doug Power?

Nick RisdonHe was at the small blacks course over in Wainui I was at was trying to get him to chuck the green and black on for our Pressies team.

Seven penalties to Josh Robertson-Weepu on Saturday. What is the record for most penalties in a Wellington club rugby match? We suspect this is a record that would go back a long way! Also 150 matches for his Premier side on Saturday. Teru Time led his Wainuiomata side against HOBM.

A similar incident has happened in Waikato Division one rugby this weekend as well. I wasn't at the game as I was playing Pressies. My club Te Rapa played away at Leamington. Chatting to the Manager, there was some shocking foul play by one of our guys and that there was racism from them during and after the game. The players chose not to go to the after match. Leamington is mainly Pakeha with a few Maori. We are more multicultural with about a third of the senior squad Polynesian.

was at the game . you are right one of your guy with a blatant foul play and another with as bad as no arms shoulder charge. as for the racial slur carnt comment as only heard what was said after game but if true the person wont last long in that club, as there is a strong maori presents in club with many high up in the local marae ..
at end of the game we could see one of your guys was going to start things he was well fired up.
team on saturday was about a third maori which is low for leamington -

I suspect the record for most penalties in a match would have go to a Marist team given the innumerable highly disputable penalties they seem to receive!

Probably only of interest to Northland fans, but extended highlights of Western Sharks v Kamo
-
Clear top 4 now, OBM (35) Kamo (34) Mid Northern (33) Western Sharks (32) and 5th is on 24 points.
However, the Sharks have stopped both Kamo and OBM unbeaten runs on consecutive weekends, even more impressive is they rolled Mid Northern the week before, meaning they have beaten 3rd, 2nd and 1st on consecutive weekends.

@tim A default game at premier level. What's going on there?
Same thing in HB club rugby last season @Higgins - I think it was MAC who defaulted, as it was the first day of duck shooting season, and they could not get enough players together

Glenfield cover a huge swathe of the western North Shore with no other club competition, I say this without actually knowing where Northcote club rooms are.
A hinterland of Glenfield, Birkenhead, Birkdale etc. Gee that's worrying if they cant get a team. All that uncompeted suburbia to its west.
The Kaipātiki Local Board area is 94k people. I guess, technically Takapuna grounds also located in this district. 3 clubs for 94k people. But, tbf, that is actually better than the 1.5 clubs in Devonport/ Takapuna local board area, 64k people. (Navy only really worth being described as half a club these days? Agree?)
