Definitely, you're not wrong there I rate him too and remember an awesome partnership between him and Russell, it was raining sixes all over the place. I wasn't rating his tournament as poor as such just pointing out he literally didn't do much.

On Tuesday, Radio Hauraki's Wells and Heath were discussing Stokes' final over horror in the Twenty20 World Cup final when he was hit for four consecutive sixes to allow the West Indies a dramatic victory.
When Deborah Stokes was made aware of their discussion she called the radio station to complain about their tone, saying they had "bagged" her New Zealand-born son.

When Deborah Stokes learned their conversation had been broadcast live she made a complaint that has been actioned.
"Matt & Jeremy are famous for identifying where the line is and then ignoring it, however putting Ben's Mum to air without her knowledge, albeit defending her son, was obviously well over that line," NZME group program director Mike McClung said in a statement to news.com.au.
"They've been suitably reprimanded, and are off-air tomorrow."

In her conversation with Heath, whom she clearly didn't recognise by voice, Deborah Stokes said: "I don't know whether they realise he was actually born and bred in New Zealand and quite frankly has family all over the country. And for those who listen to your station, for them to sit and listen to their cousin and their grandson being bagged like that is absolutely unconscionable and I'm his mother and I'm totally brassed off."
Heath then described Stokes as a "great and amazing cricket player".
"I know he is, but it's not even about the cricket. It's about the personal attack on him. They called him arrogant and then they called him some sort of name. They don't know him! They wouldn't have a bloomin' clue," Deborah Stokes continued.
Heath asked her to "slow down" because he wanted to write down the complaint.

Heath denied that and again went down the line of what an amazing cricketer Stokes was.
"I get that, but what I'm saying is, for my family â€“ and a lot of my family have rung me and said 'have you heard this, Deb?' â€“ I'm just really disappointed. Say those things and then temper it with some positives. Have a look on Twitter, see the likes of Kevin Pietersen, Tino Best, Graham Onions â€“ all of those people giving him their support because they know that tomorrow is another day," Deborah Stokes replied.

Agreed. Part and parcel with the large paychecks that come from being a professional sportsman is that people will bag you when you make a horrendous fuck up. 19 off the last over should have been defendable. People have every right to criticise

I think Jimmy Franklin should have been heaps better than he actually was. I think he focused a bit on the batting so the bowling suffered in later years if memory serves.

Jimmy had two test careers.
 
His first career he was quite a lively quick bower who could bat a bit. His stats show up to 2006 he took 76 wickets at 28 and had a batting average of 22, mainly batting at 8 and 9.
 
Then he got injured.
 
Post injury he'd lost his pace and was military medium and was ineffective as anything other than a stock bowler in tests. Our team was a bit shit, so we tried to convert him into a number 6 batsman who could bowl, but he wasn't really up to it as his post-2007 averages of 19 with the bat and 107 with the ball show.
 
He was quite a bit more useful as an ODI player post-2007 in a sort of Grant Elliott/Chris Harris role.

On one hand you can make a pretty compelling point that they shouldn't have aired it but by Christ if every Mum/Dad/Brother/Sister/Grandparent/Aunt/Uncle of any remotely famous sportsperson decided to ring up the Radio and express their moral outrage at someone bagging their pride and joy then the interweb would have a meltdown.
 
I have a feeling Ben has been on the blower to Mum having an almighty rant at her calling in the first place, he's a grown up, not a fucken kid.
