Probably a slow news day and not much to it, but I see TJ Perenara is linked with the Roosters given their injury crisis

It'll be next year, he's signed with NZR until then. And it's just typical rubbish - oh what a surprise pro rugby player's agent offering him around when there are questions about his value

God I don't like this Penrith side. Generally you have to actually win something before you start to carry on like fuckheads

@mariner4life Led by Jahrome Luai. Don't think they will, but I'd love for Brisbane to get up here.

Jesus when Pangai Jnr plays like this you can understand the contract. He and Hass are bullying the Panthers

Poor old Brisbane. They dominated the majority of this game until Cleary nailed that long range field goal. Having said that, they exposed Penrith in a lot of areas tonight.

Brisbanes best game for about a year, they won't be happy to lose but some real effort there. Penrith barely got up the other end in the second half, but Nathan Clearly was class, either came up with 40/20, 40m field goals or a try

He was actually really poor up until that 40:20. Threw some shocking passes and pit in some ordinary kicks.

Then 3 moments and Penrith win.

Brisbane a huge effort they just lack the skill in the spine to win a game like that. Forwards were really good.

yep agree and that is what good players can do, help you still win ugly.

I would rather have played Brisbane in the last few rounds than in the next few, not many teams will stop them "if" they can repeat that

@bayimports as a tactician type coach Fitzgibbon is very highly rated. But I’m glad that we didn’t get him as I don’t think it would’ve been the best scenario for either party. Rookie senior coach with our current mob, not great!

Storm v Roosters tonight should be fun. Don't think i have ever seen the Roosters paying $3.25 to win against anybody! Not sure the Storm are that good. Just more the weight of the Roosters' injury toll

I think you are right, you need the right coach for a certain group of players and wish we were able to keep Payten, the team certainly bought into his approach, and the defense improved incredibly, the players actually started to work for each other. Seems to have gone missing a bit this year already. I think this will happen for the cows , just will take a bit of time.

Also think Griffen could have gone ok at the warriors too. He would have ridden them hard, but I think thats whats needed with them. Once they get to the next level, then you can focus more on tactics..

oh and we sort of glossed over the Karmichael Hunt to the Broncos story.

Crazy journey for that boy. Coles brand Sonny Bill

@mariner4life Played for the Broncos when he was 17..I dont think he plays again, but he does have goals to become an NRL coach and i think this is more of where he sees this train on contract go. However with all the injuries who knows

yep playing is a long shot but i have seen stranger things. And the Broncos are crying out for some leadership.

I remember the stories of when he started and he took his x-box on away trips because he was too young to go to the pub with the boys.

Why bring him in if he’s not going to play? His onfield leadership would be worth more than his off field leadership I would have thought 😉

He’s been playing for Logan hasn’t he? So the Broncos will know how he’s going on the park.

@nepia If he was asked, he would play. Just where. I can only see it being a benchi (benji) type of role. Personally if the broncs play like last night from here on out, I dont think they do need him.
They will get that much confidence from what will be winning performances if they keep up that intensity for me anyway, I dont think this becomes an issue. I believe the type of train on contract, because he is not a named player in the 30 costs the broncs nothing to have that talent train with the squad regardless. That is awesome and if the injuries do get worse then his expeince is useful. They will need to get an exemption though if they have to go outside the 30 to could cover it. Hence someone on red hill may have to shoot the milf 🙂

Didn’t Walters imply there might be space in the 30 in June?

I’m only half following this as it pops up in my news feed so might fully be getting it wrong.
