@mackerzzzz Yes they are. It'll be different for Addo-Carr as he'll be playing at fullback so he'll have a massive role and a lot to learn quickly. They also need Brandon Smith to sign as they don't have a good enough 9 and as I said earlier, a lethal ball playing forward that can create second phase play and bend the line. Their forwards are full of toliers who get through a lot, but don't trouble defences. Napa has been a massive disappointment for me at the dogs.
Napa has definitely let them down. THere are a lot of guys around the comp like that. cap management is pretty hard

Yeah he's supposed to be their game breaker but the only thing he breaks is him self

@mariner4life Yeah especially after Barrett's time at Manly, but he's already got Addo-Carr, Cotric, Burton and possibly Brandon Smith. If they can add a ball playing edge forward, they could be handy next season.
Yeah I agree that Morris is getting a raw deal, similar to Dean Pay, but it looks like Fitzgibbon's gonna be the man to take them forward and is highly regarded apparently (as is every assistant coach to come out of the Storm and Roosters haha).
Fitzgibbon is very highly rated, even warriors chased hard and failed to get him (he turned down a few teams in the last 18 months), but to @African-Monkey's point, still untested at this level.
While it may be tough for Morris at least he has better cattle than a lot of teams to work with and with that roster should have delivered better in my view, although I am always happy to see Cronulla fail.
Arguably with the amount of injuries and the new HIA assessments/rules (which are still a joke if they are truly focused on player welfare), probably shows why you need to have greater depth than ever before in your club, even outside your 30. You cant cover every position with depth but I would be surprised to see too many teams loading up on big props like they were before the rule changes. Think you still need a unit but they need to be mobile. As highlighted above, the spine is of utmost importance still and teams like the doggies and us still have problems in this area, even if everyone is fit.

In what is terrible news for the Fus, his hamstring now classed as 6 weeks worthy, which ironically is probably good news for the warriors as his form/work rate among others has been diabolical this year. He wont be named today. Assuming Montoya passes HIA, Hayze Perham, Paul Turner and Rocco Berry are likely contenders from the squad for the other spot.

How do you know then?
rugby league leaks team info everywhere, not hard to find.
Warriors: Peta Hiku (knee) earns a recall and takes the place of winger David Fusitu'a, who suffered a hamstring injury in the narrow loss to Manly, while Marcelo Montoya has been named after copping a head knock at Central Coast Stadium.
Josh Curran gets a start in the second row with Eliesa Kotoa dropping out of the squad.
Bunty Afoa and Jamayne Taunua-Brown are available after serving suspensions with Afoa scoring a spot on the interchange, replacing Tom Ale, and Taunua-Brown being named in the reserves.

Probably a slow news day and not much to it, but I see TJ Perenara is linked with the Roosters given their injury crisis

It'll be next year, he's signed with NZR until then. And it's just typical rubbish - oh what a surprise pro rugby player's agent offering him around when there are questions about his value
-
God I don't like this Penrith side. Generally you have to actually win something before you start to carry on like fuckheads
-
@mariner4life Led by Jahrome Luai. Don't think they will, but I'd love for Brisbane to get up here.
-
Jesus when Pangai Jnr plays like this you can understand the contract. He and Hass are bullying the Panthers

i would hate to be a coach, that guy has so much potential.. imagine if he played like that every week

Poor old Brisbane. They dominated the majority of this game until Cleary nailed that long range field goal. Having said that, they exposed Penrith in a lot of areas tonight.

Brisbanes best game for about a year, they won't be happy to lose but some real effort there. Penrith barely got up the other end in the second half, but Nathan Clearly was class, either came up with 40/20, 40m field goals or a try

He was actually really poor up until that 40:20. Threw some shocking passes and pit in some ordinary kicks.
Then 3 moments and Penrith win.
Brisbane a huge effort they just lack the skill in the spine to win a game like that. Forwards were really good.

yep agree and that is what good players can do, help you still win ugly.
I would rather have played Brisbane in the last few rounds than in the next few, not many teams will stop them "if" they can repeat that

@bayimports as a tactician type coach Fitzgibbon is very highly rated. But I’m glad that we didn’t get him as I don’t think it would’ve been the best scenario for either party. Rookie senior coach with our current mob, not great!

Storm v Roosters tonight should be fun. Don't think i have ever seen the Roosters paying $3.25 to win against anybody! Not sure the Storm are that good. Just more the weight of the Roosters' injury toll
