I think @Kruse may want to review his tips for week 1.
Hmmm... maybe. I'm tempted to leave as-is.
-
yeah, have to say trying to do the math to make sure the number of tries made the score and spread possible...was tedious

It doesn't have to be possible - each selection is scored separately so you can be cautious and pick team A to win 9-16 and team B to score more points that team A.

It’s a whole new element really. To get a big score you have to align your predictions but that involves a risk of a very low score.
You can also try and hedge your bets a bit but that will result in a maximum of a mediocre score -
Any way of checking our picks have gone thru?
Edit: duh found the spready

Finally, if you are more likely to notice a Facebook post to a TSF post, I always post a tipping reminder in our FB group which you can ask to join if you are new to tipping.

It seems a 2 horse race this year with a big improver in the Highlanders in third place with the Canes and Chiefs fighting it out for the bottom spot.
I backed both teams I want to lose. Crusaders as them always winning is boring. And Blues because they play the Canes. Although maybe with the Blues they might be able to win this year so not too upset if they win well looking like title contenders. But not too well.
-
Missing from last year at this stage appear to be @barbarian @Bones @Canes4life @Caprice @fiamacho @gt12 @gunner @hydro11 @voodoo
Looks to be a few newcomers this year which is good but they could well be returning tippers tipping under a different name this season. Good Luck to everyone!Still time to get you tips in before the first games kicks off at 7.05pm NZ Summer Time

@bones said in Tipping 2021: @Higgins
@higgins yeah I'm not gonna bother this year sorry. Too useless!
yeah, what he said, thanks anyway!

@voodoo You can't hope to win if you don't enter!
That's true, but I also can't hope to win if I do! 🤣

@taniwharugby words of wisdom right there

Results are in for Week 1. Now all you have to do is remember to tip for the next 9 weeks.
The reigning champion Winger is already out in the lead with a superb 73 points, almost perfect selections except for being a bit low on the points for the Highlanders and Crusaders. Triple T is just 2 behind with Antipodean, Arhs and Crucial rounding out the top 5.
Only Winger, Triple T, Unite and Donsteppa picked both games 9-16 to the away team but the latter 2 fell down on their category picks. Richie is 45th and last, the only one to pick the Highlanders and the Hurricanes to win.
-
If anybody's interested in doing the SuperBru one again, I've created a pool called "TheSilverFern".
If people are not bothered, but only because they didn't pick Round One - I can configure it to only count from Round 2 onwards. -

Would have got in but didnt see last week and no good enough to start a week behind
-
Only around 20 have tipped so far this week - is it hard for people to remember to do something 2 weeks in a row? Or maybe you want to give yourself the maximum thinking time.

You start 5 behind the worst tipper last week - so would you have 13 points. And plenty of people will forget to tip as the weeks go by and you will fly past them

Probably because the teams haven't been named for the second match

A quick update after Game 1 not at all connected to the fact that I picked the Highlanders to win. All these people picked them too, Delicatessen & Fiamacho with 9-16.
Delicatessen 34
Fiamacho 28
ACT Crusader 24
Rico 24
KP 23
Stockcar86 23
Corkscrew 20
Richie 16which leaves the top 10 looking like this
Winger 80
ACT Crusader 78
Triple T 78
Stockcar86 77
KP 75
Antipodean 70
Langakali 69
Higgins 69
Victor 68
Rico 68Plenty of people picked and have zero so far. These people didn't pick at all

Hahaha I was hoping you'd do something like this

The results are ready and available at https://www.thesilverfern.com/tipping/
Rico top scored with 62 points, a great score on a week when most people went for the Highlanders. Winger still leads through getting 39 points for the Crusaders game alone, 11 clear of ACT Crusader with Victor 3rd and Rico and Stockcar86 level in 4th.
Paj scored only 6 points, showing a touching faith in the Hurricanes.
The tipping form is ready for next weekend.

Sorry too late shutting it down but you did prove your point!

Results are in
Kruse was the only one to pick both games 17+ to the home team and with one more try to the Crusaders he would have been close to a perfect 80 points. 71 was good enough to put him 3rd overall. I move up to 2nd based on picking the result for all 6 games so far (Corkscrew is also 6/6) but Winger still leads, a healthy gap of 17 points. Richie managed just 18 to be the lowest scorer of the round.
Finally I received some tips from "Dannh" on Saturday afternoon - were these from Danny as you had already tipped a few days before?
-
You still have over 24 hours to get your tips in but if you're the sort of person who disappears into a drunken haze when the weekend starts then get your tips in now
-
Finally got round to getting my tips in, looks like about another six or eight tippers still to get theirs in, including Winger. If he fails to meet the referee's whistle that will give a chance to us all! Looks like there could be a fair bit of carnage on the score sheets this round with both games looking like they could go either way so getting on the wrong side of the results could see single figure scores being recorded. Fingers crossed that you are on the right side of the results and good luck to us all in this challenging round.
