@canes4life I still think jordie
You card take risks with the Barrett family and their propensity for cards, especially not in a key position like 10.
That's a bollocks call, I assume you're joking. If not you shouldn't play them at all. Jordie is the canes best back, Ardie the best forward, more times they are on the ball the better. Jordie should be ten, he's a great 15, but out tens are so shit we need him there
-
@canes4life Figured you would be disappointed if I did not make that comment and did not want to let you down!
-
@higgins to be fair though Numia has always been a pretty good scrummager. Fidow is now 23, he’s been around long enough now so I expect him to perform against the best props out there. It will be the making or breaking of him.

@machpants With Hickey gone, the Canes basically only have one ten, JGB, who is pretty average. Leger is a midfielder, Jordie and Love are fullbacks. Just shit recruiting.
I totally agree, but jordie is a better ten than Bishop, and take do better with a poor 15 than a poor 10
-
@stargazer I agree, however Love can play 10 but he’s just too young. JGB is mediocre at this level, just too fat and slow to drive a team properly. He was good last year but that performance today was piss poor.
At this point, Brett Cameron coming to the Canes next year looks pretty bloody good right now.

Fetuli Paea injured?
He didn't seem to have any ice on his ankle/knee/leg so maybe not that serious.
I didn't see any comment about Julian Savea. He looks leaner and faster than last season.

@canes4life I am watching the live stream of the Stockcar Teams racing from Te Marua so not even switching over for the rugby. Sadly HB got tipped over very narrowly by Rotorua in their first race so I am still at the cursing and swearing stage!

@nepia we’ve got no one else good enough to play 10 though so it makes sense.

Jesus, of course I was joking. I'm not going to miss a chance to put the boot into the Barrett family's disciplinary record.
Personally I'd be worried that he doesn't have the composure to play 10 but you're both right, the cupboard is pretty bare at 10. I agree Manawatu, Crusaders, and AB star 10 Brett Cameron might just be your guy next year.

Forgetting the Canes for a minute I was really impressed with Alaimalo and Connor Garden Bachop for the Landers. Wouldn’t mind them starting next week against the Crusaders.

@higgins Jason Long there?
He might be in attendance as a fan but he races Superstocks which is the premier class and Stockcars are the class that has greater restriction on high performance parts and tyres etc to keep costs down for the racers. They had the Individual NZ Champs for Stockcars at Meeanee about a month ago and there were something like 230 cars entered. It looked like a HB car would become NZ champion until a bloody Stratford car nailed our guy with just a couple of laps left.

@canes4life Holland was a former 1st 5 himself, so you would hope he has some idea of what the position requires. Maybe he is selecting in his image.
