Indians open with 2 spinners, Ashwin getting Burns first ball of the innings, and putting him on a hattrick which he doesn't get.

Test cricket with all sorts of novelty

Poms 258 ahead with 9 second innings wickets intact. 150 odd overs left in the match

Yeah the Windies opened with that big tall fat spinner too.

What the fuck has the game become ?!?!?

Better πŸ™‚ more plusses in the test cricket is cool column

    Sub continent season i guess.

Yeah I hear all that but there's just something about a couple of pace bowlers opening up and getting hostile.

Reckon they should have enforced (/broken record). VVS happened once. And there would not have been enough time to lose.

Pretty hot in Chennai, and haven't you noticed, poor widdle bowlers need a rest. And the pitch was exploding dust on day 1.

Poms have come over very well prepared and no crowd is a leveller - reckon the indian "home" crowd was a factor in oz

England 71 for 4, lead of 312, with the Kane impersonator still in

India have England right where they want them now, chasing 300 on the final day is how India plan to win all their games.

India will love it if England get sucked into thinking that their off spinner is more than just lucky on his wicket count. Pant was eating him up fast the other day.

It was the other spinner he devoured.

England should win, to my untrained eye they were too cautious last session, left themselves fewer overs than they could have. But ... I'm sure they have a plan they were working to. Shouldn't matter in the end.

Been some cracking tests the last few weeks. All 3 tests over the weekend were good.

Batting 100 overs on a day 5 pitch in India is bloody difficult. If India save this, they'll have bloody well earned it.

    I assume rain isn't forecast πŸ˜ƒ

Anderson with two wickets in an over. Lack of bounce becoming an issue

    Some swing for Anderson too

At the SCG no less. A sackable offence for Stead, given Southee was "rested".

I’m sure he’s a tiny bit quicker than that. He’s no Chris Harris or Rod Latham.

Fair point though. He’s also no Jeff Thomson or Shoiab Akhtar

Superb bowling. He's just kept on developing, and getting reverse in India is impressive. England even more thoroughly in the box seat now

James Anderson wow. A fast-medium bowler who debuted in 2003. Absolutely astonishing.

He's played as many test seasons as Shane Bond played tests.
