I'd like to thank the aliens who stole Kata's mind and replaced it with another. He's playing great

Johnson in after a great solo run. The Auckland media are going to be fluffing the Warriors something crazy this week.

    Magic Johnson in.

Picks it up from dummy half in the middle of the field, dances sideways to within 1/2m of the right-hand touchline and dots down.

No one else could have scored that.

    Luke in now.

Should be 40-12 after the kick.

Pathetic defense again from the Warriors. SJ with an arm grab, the RTS stepped with ease.

Wooooweeeee. Jazz with a huge hit on Sims. Picked him up and drove him into the dirt (legally).

40-18 - good win although still lacking some execution on the final play. McFadden needs to correct that before he can keep off paying that mortgage with a sense of calm.

Some pointers:

- Liking the use of Vete and Matulino in the backrow. Thompson needs to play big minutes, sure, but Vete and Matulino provide a bit more power.

- Also Gubb and Lisone give the Warriors forwards some energy off the bench, doing most of the shorter hit ups, which means Matulino can play 60-70 minutes a game.

- Robson isn't working. Was terrible today. Can see Leuluai replacing him once he comes back. Or Lolohea next week.

- I don't know what happened to that man known as Solomone Kata but lets keep this one. Ran hard, (actually) tackled hard. Still doesn't pass but two outta three ain't bad.

- Hurrell. Only a few minutes in the second row (plus some in the centres) but the team definitely picked it up a notch when he ran onto the park. Also looked like he really wanted to be there.

- The Knights and their chicken wing tackles need to be sorted out quickly. Dangerous and foolish stuff.

- Robbie Rochow had a worse game than Robson. Even injured one of the few good players in the Knights today (Levi). Shocker.

- Jazz Tevaga needs to remain in the side, he can play NRL footy. However I could see Bodene covering hooker when he comes back.

Was good to see Big Ben offloaded in the tackle. Makes a huge difference.

One of Kata's better if not best games for the Warriors. Solid in defence and excellent in attack.

I know McFadden was copping some stick for prior to this week. But were the results not pretty much to be expected? I don't know much about Wests Tigers, Sneak and you other leaguies can enlighten me, but I wouldn't have expected wins v Brisbane or Melbourne.

I understand performance was down in the first halves of the first two games, but results wise (this year in isolation) was surely not cause to panic?

Good win and I enjoyed the bit I watched (last 30 mins). I don't say that often about league.

It wasn't just this season's losses but the losses all of last season as well which put the pressure on McFadden. Not to mention the major hype around RTS and Luke joining the club. But talented teams can start slow (Cowboys were 0-3 to start last season).... unless they're Brisbane or Melbourne.

I found their performances against Wests and Brisbane to be quite bad. They are quite lucky they played the Storm early - for some reason Melbourne always gets the Warriors going.

As Sneak notes, you can't look at this years results in isolation and you're looking for improvement. A big win over that cabbage Newcastle side means squat really. They'll need a big win over the cabbage Roosters side to follow that up before they get cut some flack.

Has anyone seen the Young kiwi lad's interview after nailing the winning drop goal on debut? It really is a classic. (It was after the Panthers v Broncos match)

Being too tired to make the line so ended up with the ball he didn't want and closed his eyes after hitting teh droppie!

Warriors have "traded" secondrower Raymond Faitala-Mariner to the Bulldogs for secondrower Shaun Lane. :good:
