Chiefs 2021

The Chiefs will already be running with one assistant coach less than last year, following the departure of Tabai Matson. McMillan confirmed Neil Barnes (forwards), Nick White (set pieces) and Roger Randle (attack) would continue with their same portfolios, while he and David Hill will split the defensive duties, with Hill also continuing his work with the kickers.
I'm interested if the Chiefs will move to a rush defence, the system that Gatland has always favoured.

@Bovidae 1/01/1970 must be the default setting. All new players have that as their date of birth.
Someone in the Chiefs' media department must be reading TSF as the DOBs of the new players have been updated.
I'm still calling Norris' height and weight to be wrong though.

holy fuck some of you need more hobbies. The rugby threads are just guys trying to suss out fringe players from social media posts.

@mariner4life the off-season does crazy things to us fans. Speaking of which.

It's not off season
It's cricket season

@mariner4life that must be why the Black Caps have such a packed schedule the next 6 weeks...

It’s amazing how many players get injured in pre season training.I am an old codger who played in the sixties and I can’t recall losing any players before the season even started.Training of course is on a different level now,but what are the events leading to these injuries. He isn’t the first and won’t be the last.Sad really.

Seventy nine. Four games for Waikato in 1964.
Didn’t have medial ligaments in those days. -
And by the way Bovidae the Chiefs player is still looking for that winners mug you have in your keeping!!

The Chiefs are set to revert to a co-captaincy model for their 2021 Super Rugby season in order to ease the workload on All Blacks skipper Sam Cane.
After eight years of co-captains, Warren Gatland decided to move away from it in his first year in charge in 2020, when he gave Cane full responsibility last season.
But, with Cane having since been elevated to the All Blacks captaincy as well, interim Chiefs coach Clayton McMillan told Stuff they had to be wary of not overburdening their talismanic openside flanker, so are looking to promote another leader.
With it common for a forward-back split in the co-captaincy, All Blacks Brad Weber and Anton Lienert-Brown loom as prime candidates, though McMillan even noted they may look at someone who’s not even a regular starter, to have someone who’s likely always on the park at the end of a game.
A decision will still likely be a few weeks away, with February 1 the date Super Rugby clubs welcome back their All Blacks, who are allowed to play 40 minutes of one pre-season match.
