I notice you left out the hooker.
Well he's playing as a winger
Underthrew a lineout too. Scrummaging well though
He kind of has to so that we have some punch on the right flank. The actual wing seems to be there only to contest and not win cross kicks.

STOP KICKING THE FUCKING BALL AWAY YOU fluffybunnies
@mariner4life said in Argentina Two: Newcastle, 28 November:
Halftime
And yes I know the score
O.K. then I do think this was a tactic to combat what happened last time when we got smashed on the line. We turn them, make them retreat with early kicks. Create doubt in what is formidible defence. They weren't as keen to rush.
A few comments eary in the thread like yours, but I reckon it worked.
We did too much of it later, and the cross kicks were shit, but we did hold the ball for a lot of the match and it paid off.
It also helps when you get the best players on the field.

And next year, hopefully, in their best positions!

Lol 3 mins in and we've bombed the same try 3 times

@Snowy yea I think the kicks were more often than not the right option, but didn't end up where they needed to be.
Is funny though how different we all see the game.
I thought that I could see a plan. Which was probably the first time this year.
Execution is another thing of course, and yes some of them were shit, but I think it had the desired affect early on. Later on, no. A knackered defence, we should have been building phases.
-
Funny, I was yelling at them to kick it to the Argies all night. With the game's defenses like they are these days, it is a liability to have the ball in your own half especially. The ABs still piss around with it too much in their own 22 and put pressure on themselves.

Richie mo'unga you fucking suck
-
Wait, why is Clarke the winger towed?
Jordie barrett is the living embodiment of kissed on the dick

You know the blokes name.
I think that he used to coach one of your teams.
-
@mariner4life please, please listen to the Kearns and Clark exchange post game.
What I saw in the back was a free for all. It’s not attacking or reacting. It’s pass or kick and hope. I don’t think we played any better in the backs than the last game..
Mo’unga does not control the game. Im not sure he reacts either. There’s no territorial play. He seems to be crashing the ball more and more and we need him distributing. He wasn’t horrible but by this stage he should have cemented his position and he hasn’t.
BB is either 10 or he’s not. Right now he just floats and adds, well, not enough. It comes down to this, we either persevere with one or the other, like we used to and someone is disappointed for not being selected. Or we continue to field the odd specialist and the rest of the back line are utilities. That’s not a viable way forward.
Speaking of utilities, Jordie doesn’t work on the wing. I’d rather have a specialist and try him at the back or as utility cover. He’s a very good player being misused.
Caleb Clarke and Reiko Ioane(not so much last night for the latter but in general) do not appear to be getting any coaching at all. They only have eyes for the ball. They mostly don’t look for support and die with the ball a lot. Reiko is supposed to be this kid with jet engines and I can not remember him taking an outside break any many games.
Forwards we’re like a viagra pill and had me barred up... Energised, powerful, cohesive and dominant. Props to the props. They were outstanding. The young fella in 6 looks like he’s ready to live up to the potential we saw 3 or 4 years ago.
I think Cane is close to being done. The head and neck injuries are mounting up. I think his body will give up the ghost. He tackles like a demon. I’m not debating that. But I can see little things about his game now that look like a tired and beaten player and I don’t think Cane lasts much more than next season.
It was a very good win on the scoreboard. But let’s not act like that was the same team that beat us 2 weeks ago. They gave us the B team. That’s right. Someone did to us what we do to everyone(Except we usually win then too). But I my opinion I saw plenty more to worry about than to crow about.

Two intercepts are making us look waaay better than we actually are

TJP is a fucking mouthy cock who is wish would fuck entirely off.

Haven't really seen or heard any crowing to be honest, and agree with you.

@mariner4life your wish is granted

Blowing the kick wide to J Barrett, when 7 - 0 up, was so frustrating.
It wasn't "blowing" the kick that was frustrating, it was that we fucking attempted it! We had an overlap and hands would have gotten us there, but nooooo, fucking Jordie was right up flat demanding it and his brother bloody well obliged.
Save that shit for your fucking backyard you stupid cnts
-
The shit that Argentina are allowed to get away with is disgraceful.
Perhaps if the ref's did something about it there would be less "pushing"
-
Good result. Crushed their ability to win the game in the first half. Forwards dominated. Discipline was good. Set piece was seriously strong.
The rest is very average.
Richie M seems like another in a long line of super rugby studs, test match duds.
We have a weapon on a wing with no ability to create space for him. The other wing is a non entity. BBarrett has been average at the back. The midfield is creating nothing.Lots of looking for contact, or post contact metres, very little guile to play off it.
All in all I reckon the Eden park performance was good, the rest can go to the bin.
Unfortunately I don't see how there is any change next year. The same shit will be on display because the brains trust can point to a couple of big wins and all the trophies on offer.

@mariner4life dunno, I think (hope) in terms of personell Foz went with the tried and true, next year I'm hoping we will see him put more of his own stamp on things (given his contract expires end of next year) with next season to determine if he takes us to the RWC or not.
Gameplan i think there are glimpses of them changing things, but not sure there us enough here to get us to the head of the class again for him to take us into 2023.
2021 we need to be out and out the best team on the planet for Foz to get an extension.
