@kev Hooper is an absolute mong but his frustration is understandable IMO. That's clearly an extremely cynical play on the goal-line stopping Australia have an attacking play with advantage. After several other penalties.

No-decision is worse than Berry and AFG

Prob hard as an Aussie, but as a ref what do you think of Hoopers continual whining at everything? Might just be because it’s mic’d but it’s totally ruining the game for me.

He was definitely wrong on a couple of those calls, and that would be irritating.

However, his point at the end there was valid: "i just want to know what direction you've given them because that may alter how the Wallabies play down the red zone".

Williams was slow in explaining himself

@NTA he may have more luck with Williams if he 'managed ' the ref better instead of coming across like a whiney bitch.

The big problem with always penalising the player who reacts is that you never get the player who did the thing in the first place. The play is never checked if no one reacts but if someone does react, the reactor is penalised. This lets one team antagonise the other with no consequences.

Australia should run away with this in the second half. Argentina have not offered a lot apart from dogged defence. Our problem last week was clearly conceding too many penalties in our own half and giving them easy points.

He said he gave them a warning. What more does he want?

Entertaining game so far. Expect some more red mist in the last 40 minutes. There's something shonky honky about Hodge but he's been getting the points. Wallabies look well drilled with dumb forwards some sharp backs! Even Simmons seems to be having a good game? Gee Petaia is an exciting player.
But the Puma's defending. Wow. They really look like they will tire. 9-6 Wallabies and they look to persevere. Hoping for draw though-Argentina has some very appealing fans in the stands and a beachside party high-quality anthem.

Hooper was seeking clarification on the warning. Small communication breakdown, rectified, and carry on

Chaparral replaced at halftime. Ledesma not happy with scrum

I thought Hooper did well to get that concession from the ref, but then they should have pushed on and tried to force another penalty rather than go for 3. You've come that far, and got them on a warning, why pull the pin now?

Right call as it turns out. A warning should always last past half time.

It's shit to see wining rewarded. Players asking for yellow cards and being called "good captains" is something we need to move past.

I will never understand how White's legs can be so fast and his pass so slow. The Wallabies backline can never seize the opportunity, otherwise , he's playing quite well. But that grandpa pass!
Playing with 14, Argies will have to resort to more argie-bargie. Can't see them lasting now at 6-12 even with that hooked penalty miss.
