Jordie on the wing is all about experience, low error rate and defence.

I'm sure they don't want two absolute rookies at the back together in Clarke and Jordan vs Aus and I'm sure they think Jordie will score most of the tries he should, while being the best defensive option on the right wing. A sort of bigger, slower version of Ben Smith.

Probably also a bit of man management in that they don't want to push Beaudy to the bench and have him fuck off overseas permanently.

Pretty sure it's a short term measure, though.

    🤔

@Nepia I reckon Jordie very clearly went up a level this year. He was excellent for the Hurricanes - barely made a mistake.

He's made a few rookie errors in the ABs, but those have to be left in the past at some point. He'll doubtless make a few more mistakes in his career - even Ben Smith got sent off in a World Cup final - but, I expect them to be relatively rare.

People like Jordan and Clarke probably still have their rookie errors in front of them - even if they ultimately become very safe options.

    That is all fair comment.

What I haven't seen from Jordie (and I am happy for someone that watched the Canes more intently this year to correct me) is great positional play at the back.
It is an aspect that doesn't quite get the testing at Super Rugby as it does at higher levels due to the styles of games played.
Bender showed excellent positional awareness as did CJ before him. I watch JB on the wing and he always has his 15 telling him where to go. If he is as good a 15 himself he should know.

yeah, shit, that would be a risk against the enormous amount of caps they would be facing...

We are second-guessing and excuse making for strange looking decisions because the coaching panel don't tell anybody anything useful.

I hope we're not in for dome of those Super Rugby games where the jersey's clashed, is the white patterns enough?

Home team changes kit if there is a clash.
Some rugby traditions should be upheld.

Didn't that change to the opposite about ten years ago?

No different to playing the Boks. I doubt the players focus on the colour of the shorts (white for SA).

That's just a big fuck off from me. You could have done a yellow indigenous jersey. Not our problem, we wear Black.

i thought so too but just checked and when we played Scotland in 2017 at murrayfield they wore white

@Snowy you're not wrong...but thats small comfort if we get bagged for some sort of cultural insensitivity

    Looks like it changed, but has change back? Found this in an article;

"The All Blacks, as the home side, will be able to wear their traditional black jerseys in the two tests against France in June. They also play Italy."

We could put a Koru on ours?

The Wallabies colour is yellow, they can do that with indigenous patterns.

France changeing their blue pissed me off too. Any team that changes their colours so that we can't wear Black are fuckwits.

of course they can, and have done before...but not now and theyre not going to make a new jersey before tomorrow

I asked in another thread if we should maybe do something different with our alternate strip, somethign other than plain white

@Kiwiwomble I actually don't think there is much of a clash. They are just scared of us in Black.

I also commented about our alternate strip elsewhere - just not grey.

Here's a graphic showing the Wallaby jersey over history. The gold jersey was first used in 1961 to avoid a colour clash on their tour to SA.
