They see some versatility and combine that with a desire to get other 13s on the park (Ioane, Ennor)

I think it's about pace at 13. Look at the North South match 13's - Ioane, Ennor, PUJ & L Faingaanuku (3 wingers)

The fact Goodhue spent most of SR at 12 makes me think this is a more permanent move (also he tends to stay at 12 when others have subbed on)

Post Lions it seems to me that ABs have been struggling to crack the rush defence strategy.

I love the fact that Goodhue runs straight lines and can weight and time his pass to give his wings space to do their thing. Not something we've been that good at in professional era.

But I suspect the selectors are keen on the miss pass from 10 to outflank rush, and in theory giving Rieko the time and space to do his thing at 13, with wings as back up.

I like ALB at 12 because he has good feet and thus good in tight space and makes excellent decisions. But not sure that's what TWM are looking for strategically.

Expect to see Jack at 12.

P.S. The Japanese fish eating chicks loved the mullet!

Gutted to hear that Bridge is out, don't care what anyone says but forced changes are not optimal. If BB is not fit makes it harder to leave Mackenzie out which was my preference. That said will be happy to see Clarke getting a start.

Horribly nervous already about the team selection. Foz and Foxy have lost the plot. Not been this nervous about AB team selection since Cueball and Deans were in charge.

Read was especially disappointing in that regard.

I know diehard Cantabs who never rated Read as a captain.

    McCaw excellent

He became an excellent captain in time. McCaw nearly lost his first test as captain against Wales with a fortunate 1 pt win, and by the 2007 RWC loss had been the captain for 2 seasons, but not without flaws.

Captaincy is easy when you are winning. It's in adversity that we see real leadership.

To me it looks like the tactic when we have clean ball is to try and actually suck the defence forward and get it wide under pressure either by skipped passes or wrapping. Then use two players to interpass on the flank and get through the line with support from the rear. The drawback is that unless you have front foot ball and have drawn in the forwards you end up at high risk of turning over possession wide

"TWM" is a bit of a stretch so far - assuming that means what it usually does?

    The "W" in particular.

@bayimports backs improved, forwards not so much. Hopefully Aus can front up in the pack again.

Bench will be interesting. Looks like Jordan will have to wait.

@pakman potentially Scott Barrett? Wouldn't mind seeing Hodgman either but doubt they'll do it just like i'll doubt they'll have Jordan on the bench but they should.

Given that Jordan was about to be released you'd think that he wasn't in the plans and has only been held as cover.
Scares me to think that Scooter may walk straight back in but we are desperately light on locking options.
