That a team ranked sixth in the world will beat the world champions?
-
@Machpants Haha, maybe they're afraid of the Argies, who are already in Oz and haven't played any domestic rugby (so are even less prepared than the Boks). If they lose against the ABs or Wallabies, they have their excuses ready, but against the Pumas they haven't any.

TBH so what, to not play cos you might get beaten is a fucking poor excuse. Everyone knows they will be under the pump, but they’ll fall further behind not playing anything until they are a hundy they can beat Oz

It was a joke.

@Machpants It's not about losing. They have a valid point about player welfare (injury risk). The Pumas have taken a big risk by taking a squad that is presumably full of rookies and that is totally unprepared. They haven't played for ages. All they've had is a camp in Uruguay and now in Oz.

From you, yes. but from SA coaches and media, it is mentioned as an actual consideration!
EDIT: Yes about player welfare, but Arg are doing it with no games/internal work from scratch, why can’t they? They’ve been training for as long as Arg

Baabaa's anyone?
it has to be too late to get a completely new tea off the ground doesn't it?

Pacifica? They would be keen for a game. What is the Afrikaans word for "pussies"?

Boks looking pretty unlikely. Unbelievable, if true, that they haven't even talked to the players - player welfare my arse
South African rugby journalist Brenden Nel told the Mike Hosking Breakfast on Newstalk ZB that it seems 'very unlikely'.
"I suppose you can't really say until they officially announce it but everything points to the fact that they won't be going," he told Mike Hosking.
"There are trying for one last ditch to shift dates and make it somehow so the South Africans can come. We were on a press conference today with the Bulls and we asked Duane Vermeulen and he said nobody has even spoken to them about the Rugby Championship just yet. If the players don't even know…they would have to be on a plane on Saturday night to begin quarantine so that seems very unlikely," Nel said.

I find it a bit strange, are Argentina already in Australia or close to it? Its not like the SA players don't have access to the internet, every single one of them being professional rugby players would have known about the RC. I can only assume they get a nice playing bonus and trip allowance out if it, I find it odd the players wouldnt have asked the question or spoken to their player union.
