All Blacks Tests 2020

I guess the other thing to look at, which is not so much in their control. Is the 14 days negotiable? If covid has another wave in both countries or more security guards start dicking guests (again) then protocols remain.
But if everything goes to plan, and no one breaks their bubble and no one is positive.. and in December their is no community transmission on either side of the ditch where they are, do they have to spend 14 days? I think the government might weaken their stance if this happens...anyway just a thought -
@bayimports no way the quarantine is going to change, that's wishful thinking. Could the ABs be allowed to quarantine at home? Maybe, it'll be after the election so won't be political suicide.
Really ABs should win first 3 Bleds, then at the stadium on the fifth weekend hand the cup to Oz, say we default the next game, you might as well have it, is the only way you're going to get this. Then head off back to NZ that Sunday!

why do they even need to quarantine on their way back? they never leave the bubble. Pretty sure no league or AFL players have tested positive whilst in a bubble.
No bubbles going on, once they quarantine they're free.
Not that it matters, NZ rules apply to all incoming people. Deven if you're coming from a Pacific island with no covid, you still quarantine. You still travel through airports, there's still a risk

@Kirwan fat fucking chance our B team beats the wallabies let alone the C team
By the end of the tournament, with a handful of injuries for Oz, then I disagree.

It would have to be a lot of injuries.

@mariner4life i dunno, if Rennie cant manage a pretty dramatic turnaround in form your B team would probably still beat the Wallabies more often than not

I for one would be pretty pissed off if they got a quarantine exemption on their return to NZ if other travellers from Aust aren’t given the same.
This whole thing is a cluster fuck as others have said.
Time for the NZRU to show some balls and push back.
Since they made the misguided decision to ask for expressions of interest in a new super comp, they have been backpedaling as others get their way.
The Aussies threw their toys about not cutting the force again, SANZAAR had a whinge about NZ quarantine requirements and decided to stage the entire comp in Aust. Then Rennie had a cry about the date of the first Bledisloe and threatened to boycott it.Time to stand firm and say there won’t be an AB team in the comp if they aren’t back by the date agreed to originally.
Lets also move the first Bledisloe forward a week to this weekend and only put it up for the two test series. If those tests can’t count for TRC why should the TRC ones count for the Bledisloe?
RA is broke. Lets give them a reminder that they need us more than we need them.

@Derpus That's why I think fielding a "B" team is more likely. Send the guys with young children home early.
Also possible we just don't play one game. Also possible SA pull out. Not certain that this goes ahead at all.

Yeah there will be less than an ideal team if it happens, but more like a 1.5th XV.
-
@Kirwan Yeah, and I wouldn't be surprised if more Argies test positive either. I think I read somewhere they're currently training in Uruguay? If there's one thing nobody wants, is members of one team infecting their entire bubble and then go on infecting the other squads.

Some refreshingly calm comments
Interim Rugby Australia chief executive Rob Clarke says they supported altering the draw, but no agreement to end the tournament by December 5 was ever signed after SANZAAR rejected two seperate proposals. But he says RU will continue to work with NZR to try and find a suitable resolution. "No one wants players and team management to be away from their families and in quarantine over Christmas," he says. "Rugby Australia will do everything in its power to help assist New Zealand Rugby and the team in finding a reasonable resolution, and in urging them to exhaust every possible alternative. "There are still more than two months to go before December 12 so we have plenty of time to find a solution. "We will continue to work with New Zealand Rugby and support them however we can, just like we are doing with the Springboks and Argentina in assisting with their travel plans, as well as making their stay in Australia as safe and as comfortable as possible during the tournament. "There have been a number of sacrifices made by each of the SANZAAR joint venture partners to get this far and I want to thank all of them for their flexibility and adaptability. "There is obviously a lot to achieve in the coming months but I’m confident that under the leadership of each of the joint venture partners, that the 2020 Rugby Championship in Australia will be a great success."

@KiwiMurph Weasel words at the beginning. Robinson never said there was anything signed, just that they had an agreement with RA not to play that late in December.
I suspect they have been taken by surprise by NZR's response and are concerned the ABs are about to pull out.

Big talk but chances that NZRU jeopardize a huge amount of income because their employess will miss Christmas? doubt it.
Just like the big talk from Rennie threatening to boycott the first Bledisloe test?

Weber and Jioane at 9 and 10. Ha!
Marinos said the schedule is set as SANZAAR doesn't want to play 6 tests in 5 weeks for player welfare reasons. RA won't do anything and have put the problem back in NZR's court.
I'm waiting to hear an official response from SARU.
