So pull out of the stupid thing and play the ABs in Mitre 10. Sorted.

THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS!

We will deal with the fallout next year

SA and Aries will be underdone for the tournament anyway with no rugby.

It's not going to look good for The Rugby Championship if a number of marquee players decide to opt out and not come.

Well ABs aren't playing that game. Obviously an Ozzie attempt to finally get the Bled once we default

I'm kind of hoping that the 2 NZ tests are played and then the RC falls over.

@Bovidae I still find it hard to see how the Argies can field a team. All those guys with positive tests ... From what I read from French players who got COVID, it took them a while to be able to train and play again, even those with few symptoms. Something to do with lesions in the lungs????

Three months on ABs salary or two months on M10 Cup pay?

Those with wives will be going! 🙂

    @Stargazer

    Argentinian coach Ledesma comments

“I’m all good, I never had symptoms or anything,” Ledesma told the Herald from Buenos Aires. “Ninety-nine per cent of our staff and players were fine. Only one guy got symptoms a month ago but the other guys were asymptomatic. It’s really weird because we had a lot of positive cases, but all asymptomatic. Some guys were living together, sharing maté [a popular drink in Argentina] and bathrooms but one got it and the other didn’t. It happened in three or four different cases.”

There was further good news last week with a further 26 negative cases. This week, more negative results came back and the Pumas have faith that when they get on the plane, likely early next month, they will be free of COVID-19.

@Stargazer The Argies want to play at least one warm-up game too (Aust A was mentioned) so they would need to arrive ASAP.

If the NZR pull out, you'd think that the players association woudl insist that got paid for the scheduled games at least. I think that would be fair as well.

Might have to be some more North South style fundraising games to pay for it? Who knows. What a mess

@taniwharugby So will the Northland ones....err, one.

You guys could just pass the hat around for Jack.

The ABs won't be pulling out except for plague-based reasons.

@Chris-B they might extend it out to include Robinson, but yeah we are largely unaffected.

As @Kirwan says above, how can they release a draw that has supposedly not been agreed to?

Six tests on six consecutive weekends is a pretty heavy schedule. Physically very demanding, even if they have bigger squads to give some players a rest. It will be particularly hard for the Springboks and Pumas, who haven't played for ages.

The more I think of it, the sillier I find this TRC. Except for the unions bank accounts.

@taniwharugby Because they are rugby administrators.

I'd imagine SANZAR were stuck with us wanting to start a week earlier and the Jaapies wanting to start a week later.

Releasing the schedule without us signing off on it is one tactical way of breaking the deadlock! It's pretty much a fait accompli now, so we're negotiating from a pretty shaky platform.

I don't think there are many bank accounts that are full, I think most unions need the cash from the engagement. In fact I would go as far to say this has nothing to do with a product and everything to do with contractual obligation/ income

Big squads rotation. Let guys with young families leave a week early.

Cricketers play on Boxing Day, NH tours up until the 1970s used to last into the new year. Deal with it.

It's a once off, in an extraordinary year, to keep the coffers approx 50% plus fuller than otherwise. Sure, its content for the sake of it. But they've decided the content is necessary.

I understand your sentiment, but I have a bit of an issue treating AB tests in such a manner. History matters, our results % is something we take pride in. It is a massive devaluation of the jersey to leave a bunch of youngsters to fight out an away test. Next thing you know we will be labelling them friendlies.

    check out the 90s guy

Traditions don't mean shit when it comes to professional sport. Broadcasters pay the bills, and they won't pony up without content. Dance monkey dance.
