Overeem cementing his Hall of Fame status.
His chin has held up well in the last two fights. I thought he was done.. happy to be proved wrong

UFC Vegas 10
Great card, great fights, great finishes -
Yeah was a very good day of fights. Main event could have gone either way. I wanted Hill to win but she let it go to the cards. 2 fights she could have been awarded in a row.
I had a look at the Bellator fights today and I have to say, I was pretty impressed. Didn’t know any of the fighters that well of the fights I watched but it was high level stuff.

UFC 253 - the travel for the kiwi fighters is a little awkward. The UFC was concerned about travel options from NZ to Abu Dhabi. So they asked them to fly to Vegas first and then they'll take the charter flight with the other fighters
So two long flights and the first one is a week earlier than normal
Also the UFC asked CKB to prepare two extra fighters - Blood Diamond and Carlos Ulberg. They might get called up if there's any positive covid tests/injuries.
There's five shows in a row at fight island so I guess they'll stay around after 253 -
UFC Fight Night: Covington vs Woodley - this was a big deal 2 years ago but not so much now.
Covington vs Woodley - Covington by UD or late stoppage. Woodley doesn't bang anymore.
Cerrone vs Price - Cerrone 2nd TKO
Chimaev vs Meerschaert - Chimaev Submission
Walker vs Spann - Walker 2nd TKO
Dern vs Markos - Markos UD or Dern Sub within 2
Holland vs Stewart - no idea -
Agree on the main event. I don't think Woodley can turn around the decline. Covington won't finish him but it should be comfortable
Price to KO Cerrone. I think he's done. Potentially his last fight too? (White made it clear in the media that Cerrone has to win)
Agree on Chimaev and Walker

Covington, Price, Chimaev, Walker, Markos, Stewart

Main event went mostly as expected. Woodley gets frustrated against top class guys now. Covington was impressive.. he's underrated because people pay too much attention to his silly wrestling persona
Cerrone's chin held up better than I thought it would. A draw pauses his slide
-
Stewart shafted IMHO
Thought Cowboy did enough too. You could see Price was surprised.
Walker is loose but tough as fuck.
Chimaev. Machine.
Dern great finish.
Covington deserved winner but average bout.
Prelims were exciting as fuck.

My 253 predictions/guesses
The Kiwis
Israel Adesanya v Paulo Costa
The longer this goes the better for Adesanya. I suspect he'll avoid the early danger and get a stoppage in the 5thI wouldn't be that surprised if he gets caught early though. All the questions about this fight relate to Costa because he doesn't have a long record in the UFC. Can he catch a high quality counter striker? Does the weight cut, muscle mass and volume of his work count against him in a five round fight?
Kai Kara-France v Brandon Royval
All depends on KKF's takedown defence. KKF by KO or Royval by subBrad Riddell v Alex da Silva
This should be the easiest of the kiwi fights. Riddell by KOShane Young v Ľudovít Klein
No idea. Klein is on debut but he seems to be rated. Young almost quit in recent times because of injuries etc. Hoping to see Young back to his best but he's the slight underdog
Others
Diego Sanchez v Jake Matthews
The Aussie by decision. Sanchez looked a bit shit recentlyDominick Reyes v Jan Błachowicz
Reyes to keep this on the feet where he has an advantage. A stoppage in the 4th -

I think Izzy loses the belt. I'm not happy about it but I just have a feeling that he's going to get his clock cleaned. So want to be wrong. If I am wrong then Izzy by UD if Im right, Costa KO round 1.
Yeah I'll be nervous watching this one. If it gets past the first couple I'm relatively confident though
