For what it's worth, my 23:

    Moody Ofa T

With the 6 props named I don't think you will see much of Ofa at LH again. Cron and Hansen seemed to want to move him there with varying results.

Late in the North-South game when Ofa returned to play LH with Ta'avao at TH and Scrafton at lock, the NI scrum was going backwards.

Not sure Ta’avao is match fit. Ofa LH and Nepo at TH would be pretty solid.

But agree it looks like he’s going to be focussed on TH.

Don't agree with his at all, Props are Specialist in their positions that is why we got out muscled by the Poms.

Broadly agree with principle, but Joe and Nepo started in semi, which doesn’t seem to support your point.
My hunch is that BBBR wasn’t at 100%, because Itoje at TH lock is a weakness which Boks exploited in final.

And Joe is a LH and Nepo TH that supports my point. This whole Hansen way of turning props into utility players weakened the ABs.

I can't stand Justin Marshall but for the fist time in my life I actually agreed with him. He broadly talked about specialist players across the positions, why he was alluding to was that utilities are used in desperate situations. This was echoed by Jeff Wilson I like Fosses approach to his squad selections.

Tupulotu has a injury, but will probably be OK. Can you imagine if Vaa'i has to play against South Africa? A Bryn Evans/Isaac Ross selection, but at least Ross was a lineout target.

I’m with you. Easy now without RWC squad limits, which steer things towards 5 props and hence one who can cover both sides.

There could be as many as 10 additional players added to the AB squad now if they have to remain in Aust in an isolation bubble. Pick a name out of the hat time.

Nice one, Labour. An AB squad - extended at that - having to go to Australia for several weeks really fucks the NPC.

@shark you realise, of course, that the govt follow the advice of the health service, not the other way around. Unlike some countries,

It's the governments decision, ultimately. Doesn't matter a shit how much advice they take or from where. Actually, it does. When the only advice you seriously consider represents only one facet in a decision making process, it matters many shits.

One would hope that the relevant Minister applied some common sense analysis to their advice. Namely why can't people who travel together, live together and eat together, train together?

That was covered, because they won't live together. The bubble numbers are hard, so they increased the bubble size slowly. That's our cautious approach. If one player in SA or Arg squad has covid, that's the end for that team the Ozzie way. NZ are also thinking about the players health, chucking them all together from many places with covid is a risk that many will get it. So you can disagree with the risk, but it is common sense, just different than what you perceive

Yeah, and that one “facet” being the relevant Subject-Matter-Expert. And, probably, consultation with indirectly-involved SMEs. Shit.
How dare they not consider consulting InfoWars and random reddit threads?

You're not putting different teams in the same environment. You have them enter their own bubble before leaving, tested before leaving and on arrival. Then for the entirety of the competition each team lives in their own bubble.

Newshub are saying that the AB squad will be expanded to 46 players, so another 11 players to be added. That is assuming none of the current squad don't pull out for personal reasons.

    That'll be a fun exercise.

Don't have time to think right now.

Will have to look at the make up of positions may be added or who may have been unlucky.

Perhaps they'll add an extra 10. Trask?
