He hasn't started much for Ta$man
He got a start for the Crusaders at 13 v the Canes. He struggled a bit marking PUJ

Paea effectively replaces Highlanders midfielder Rob Thompson, who is moving overseas next year.

@Tim i hadn't heard Thompson was heading overseas, sad end to his Landers carrier, far from his best season, wiki had him listed as a wing and thats where he played against us, more of a midfielder though?
edit: my mistake, thought he started wearing 11
The Tongan made his Super Rugby debut for the Crusaders in the midfield against the Highlanders earlier this year, and is regarded as a strong ball carrier who cover multiple positions.

Yeah I like him good signing with some game time under his belt he will be a good pickup.

i do find this kind of stuff annoying about professional rugby, highlanders havent really given him a lot of chances before this season, one or two games here and there when bender had to be rested etc
gets a bit more game time this year...rough to start with, absent in some games, struggled to connect with the rest of the back lines in others....but i kind of see some of that as understandable settling in...then the last few games really seemed to settle...far from perfect but at 22 i thought he might have been more of a long term project
and its not like many of the others we tried on the wing did much better

@Kiwiwomble , have heard much of Josh McKay’s issues revolve around his attitude, has not been doing the work required for the coaching staffs liking ..I have heard the Highlanders are very close if not already to signing Solomon Alaimalo .

@Steven-Harris that's interesting, if you'd told me that prior to SRA I could believe it, but he came on leaps and bounds in the comp. Alaimalo would be an adequate replacement I guess...
He could be very dangerous working off the space Joane creates.
