@dogmeat didn't look like he hit it very hard at all, but I guess if it hits the Adam's apple straight on itd hurt.
Will the line judge be in a neck brace and be suing?
Given how much power these pro players can generate, it never looks like much, but it is.
@dogmeat tournament is wide open now. Medvedev looks to have a favourable draw.

@ACT-Crusader Same side of the draw as Thiem. It's the top half that has really opened up For Zverev I reckon

When @taniwharugby posted that I actually dug up one of the most useless bits of trivia in my brain (there is a lot of crap in there). Women can have an Adam's apple - most don't. Testosterone levels, puberty and development of the larynx. You can't always spot a ladyboy by an Adam's apple. Caution is required.
Maybe it's not such useless information if visiting Thailand...

Always a good starting point if there is doubt on a Thai night out!

Going to the obvious starting point could end badly but much more conclusive.

Oh yes! True.

One thing that has been bugging me about this Joker thing is the media saying he was 'defaulted' from the tournament. Is that the right word to use? I always thought you can 'default' yourself but other people 'disqualify' you rather than 'default' you.

Djokovic has been disqualified from the US Open for hitting a line judge in the throat with a ball he despatched in a fit of temper. It was accidental but apparently you could hear her choking through the sound effects mic.
Pretty sure that wouldn't have happened if Federer made same mistake. Absurd decision.
Really? Rules are rules.
Surely a rule that hitting a ball / line umpire with a tennis ball not involved in the actual play is a decent one isn't it? I'm sure he didn't do it on purpose, but he still did it.

He left without fronting a press conference. Classy.
Wise decision if you ask me. He's a bit of a hot head, journalists will look to escalate the story by getting a heated remark or something. Best to get out of there, calm down, and issue a measured public response. Which is exactly what he did. The story is basically dead now and everybody moves on. Spot on.

The rules are the rules and the rule is that on a first offence the standard penalty is a warning.
The offence has to be flagrant and a threat to the tournament to merit disqualification.
Assuming he didn’t aim for her it wasn’t flagrant.
And spoils the tournament not having the best player able to contest.
Absurd.
