Bryn Hall is a champion for staying in NZ so long.

At the risk of starting a war (or at least an 80s movie punch up) ๐Ÿ˜‰ , Bryn Hall was average at the Blues, he was lucky to be getting Super games back then. The object of your derision Weber's poor form this year would still be better than when Hall was chucking his pies around for the Blues.

Definitely turned his game around at the Crusaders although has struggled to distance himself from Drummond - weird that Drummond has been an AB and Hall hasn't.

I don't mind him now but he drove me bonkers at the Blues so I don't really remember that good year.

Holy heck it's the same naming convention at Manawatu in the forwards! They even have their lead in a FPS, Johnny Galloway. Og and then there's boring old Sam Stewart. He needs to Liebezeit shit up.

I liked the look of TK Howden last year for the NZ Barbarian Schools, where he played at lock. A big step up in his first year out of school.

So many German names (Liebezeit, Laubscher, Goerke, Werthmuller) in this Turbos 23 ! Is there a German community in Manawatu ?

@cgrant There are a good number of Samoan's carrying German names thanks to their occupation of the Islands,so that might explain things a bit?

Julian Savea has eyes firmly set on midfield role in the Mitre 10 Cup

Julian Savea has eyes firmly set on midfield role in the Mitre 10 Cup

Julian Savea returned to NZ earlier this year following a two-season stint in France and was promptly drafted into the Hurricanes squad. The 30-year-old is now getting ready for a Mitre 10 Cup, where he'll likely be wearing the 12 jersey.

How close has Hall been though? Didn't he get named in an extended EOYT squad either for a game against Japan, or midweek game against a French selection?
