Bad look when the ABs captain can only make a 3rd XV!

    3rd?

Well he's not in the top 30 players

    How do you work that?

Are you saying he is not as good as Christie? And that these are the top two XVs in the country?

    This isn't A v B, Probs v Poss etc.

Not me, the two teams picked by The Breakdown, the top 30 players in there country, did not include cane. Therefore he can only make a3rd XV. Not tricky

Isn't it better to say the two teams picked by the idiots who front Sky tv shows? I'd suggest TJ is in the top 30 players in the country and he's not there.

Jeez it was just a joke, two best teams in the country (proviso: according to a bunch of ex all Blacks, picked with some odd criteria) does not include the current ABs Captain. That's Ridiculous

There are implications for this game too now, so it will need to be rescheduled.

Just cancel it and get ready for an awesome Mitre 10 Cup.

This article is mainly about North v South, but also some paragraphs about Farah Palmer Cup, Mitre 10 Cup, SR(A) 2021.

Hinton and Knowler pick their NI and SI XVs. Marc should be ineligible to be a NI selector as a Otagoite. 🙂

Newshub says that as well as the moving this game to Wellington the other option for NZR is to delay the game by 1 or 2 weeks. I guess we find out within the week, or tomorrow if the squads are named as originally intended.

I would've thought not knowing anything about rugby would rule him ineligible.

@Bovidae I' d give Akira Ioane the nod at 6 for NH and start Pari Pari Parkinson at Lock for the South, apart from that I find little to argue with in their selections.

    https://www.allblacks.com/update-steinlager-north-vs-south-game/

NZR General Manager Professional Rugby & Performance Chris Lendrum said NZR was still hoping that the eagerly-anticipated match could be played at Eden Park, Auckland, on Saturday August 29, but was also making contingency plans to play the match at SKY Stadium in Wellington instead on the same day.
The squads for the Steinlager North v South match will be announced at midday tomorrow and were due to assemble in Auckland on Monday next week.
"With Auckland at Alert Level 3 until midnight on Wednesday 26 August, the squads will now assemble in Wellington to prepare for the match.
"New Zealand Rugby is currently working through the Government's normal exemption process to seek approval for the Auckland-based players and management to assemble in Wellington from next Monday.
"A final decision on the venue for the match will be made following the Government's review of Covid-19 levels on Friday," Lendrum said.
