Dead rubber games have a history of the fans getting all excited but the winning players simply not having enough motivation compared to the other team whose fans pretend there's actually something on the line. There isn't.
Thinking of Waugh's Aussie cricket team, 3rd and 4th play-offs, Liverpool this season etc.
So Blues off a bye and at home should win and then their fans will have 9 months of talking up a team that yet again have won fuck all๐
Hope they have a final next year, not to determine the best teamm but just to give landers fans another game to watch๐

Bit like Ireland finally beating the ABs.

@pakman If the Blues lose it'll be a choke of epic proportions. They're playing at home, have the best loosies in the comp, two time worlds greatest player and playing against a team who has already won the competition.
The only thing stopping the Blues will be if the ref is biased. This has been a huge problem for them since about the start of 2004 super rugby season.
It would be a choke! Saders pack has only two AB quality players (three if Joe M makes it back). Loosies distinctly mediocre. Half backs meh, and whilst a high quality backline, only Ritchie and Sevu have X-factor.
If Blues get their big boys running at Saders they will punch holes. Sure Leon will have clocked how the Clan's offloading defused Chch D.
And Blues backs off front foot ball will be a handful.
I could see us giving Saturday's 23 a ten point beating.
If a B side then I hope they take offense and put 20 on them, which will be a nice feeling to go into the NPC with.

@pakman how does Jordan not have x factor?
Honestly, he's the most unconvincing game breaker to watch. Seems to just plod along and absolutely smokes people left, right and centre. It's so weird.

Not fishing at all. He's ace - but just never looks like he's going to do anything.

Just what I heard
Moโunga s wife is expecting their first baby this week and has played every minute except the last 4 min against the LandersWhen is the last time the Crusaders won without Mo'unga?
Havili and Cameron haven't been good enough in recent seasons.
-
@Bovidae Havili has hardly played at 10 for the Crusaders (only one start, ever). If he'd play more games in that position, I've no doubt he'd get better and more than adequate. His first half against the Chiefs was excellent; his second half was okay.
Cameron just doesn't have the talent. For the next few years, the Crusaders have to hope that Burke develops in a good 10 and that Campbell Parata is a super talent.
-
@Bovidae Yeah, if Havili was fit, it would be okay, but with only Cameron and Burke available to replace RM, that's a problem. I guess it depends on whether baby Mo'unga is keen to arrive on time or is staying put for a few more days. If the latter, I'd expect Richie to wear the 10 jersey. But it's a dead rubber, so not that urgent.
