    @Tim

    If we beat the Highlanders and the comps over maybe some players who haven't had much of a go get some game time.

    @KiwiMurph daytime rugby is the winner!

    I realise eyeballs on screens is where the money is, but people want to go to earlier games

    If it's for UK/Africa market, then I'm not sure it matters that much to be honest - they can throw on a replay at breakfast time anyway and the tragics like us will just record the game and watch it over breakfast with the added bonus of being able to fast forward through Marshall explaining an unknown law in a break in play (although I've been getting up for most games).

    If it's Aus, how could it not be better to crank up the bbq for lunchtime super rugby?

    Congratulations to the Crusaders. Winning this comp with a game in hand is pretty fucking incredible given how close it has been, and the quality on offer.

    Yesterday was just a great illustration of what that team is about. The Highlanders were all over them, and the game was slipping away. But they stuck to their process, lifted when they needed to, and their best players got them home.

    They are a great side in the mould of the Storm or the Patriots (comparisons used many times over) in that they are all about quality role players doing their jobs in order for their best players to shine.

    It's really impressive, and the coaching staff are to be highly commended.

    Watching the Crusaders playing against only New Zealand opposition has highlighted for me how often their opponents have opportunities that someone will stuff up. Crusaders take the vast majority of their chances while other teams invariably place themselves under pressure.

    I'm glad it's almost over, although I thoroughly enjoyed watching the SRA games. I'm just so looking forward to the Mitre 10 Cup!

    A grudging hurrumph from me, but you are sadly correct.

    One noticeable thing of this SRA is that the well known crooked throwing hookers (Eklund, Slater, Taukeiaho, Aumua) have made huge improvements in this area during the second part of the competition. Coltman stays with his bad habits, while Codie Taylor had a very poor period as far as LO throwing is concerned.

    Good point...Coltman definitely went backwards. How about Dixon....bad timing to choose last weekend to finally lose the 100% throw....

    I think he’s been really good this year, but still good the past few seasons.

    I was never a huge fan of him in his early career but he seemed to get better with age, and in an era of Parsons and Coleman having caps it’s sucks that he’s never had a shot.

    @Tim I’d say he’d had pretty similar form for a few years, maybe slightly better this year, it’s like Ben smith...everyone notices him and thinks he’s suddenly playing well and all the highlanders fans are like “he’s been like this for years”

    Nah he was definitely better this year - he used to be reliable at set piece and adequate around the field, used to be the definition of journeyman. He's definitely stepped up, especially ball in hand.
