Forgot to add I think the Highlanders would have had a better chance had they not decided to run from their own 22 all night.

Just watching again and as good as Smith was, man he made some howlers.

Chip kick that got forced by Reece. A couple others... And then the tap and kick which left me throwing up uncontrollably.

Amazing vision to leave the ball at the ruck for the turnover that resulted in Nareki's try though.

Last couple of games he’s looked like he’s been reading his own press, still world class but trying to make magic with every touch

Ioane simply sparkling and must be creating selection headaches.

Is it a headache? He’s clearly the 3rd AB flyhalf. As good as Black has been he doesn’t offer the same threat on attack as Ioane

I'd be tempted to say 2nd....but like @Snowy I'm not biased.

Just think they may have been thinking to use 3rd flyhalf as an avenue to work DMac into the squad.

Anyway why have you got me using English terms! First five.

Well Foster might do that. There’s no such thing as an objective team selection of course.

If they are taking 3 genuine flyhalfs (I like that name better) Ioane should be there

My spelling is deteriorating! I don't have a nude picture and for that we are truly thankful!

I was surprised by the lack of criticism of the chip option. I guess play moved on too fast

MCKay not kicking and Parate being an unco fucked the Highlanders.

I notice the ref defending brigade is out in force. He made some howlers, are we not allowed to say that anymore? This PC rugby culture ... 😜

@Nepia yeah, a bit of tactical kicking...or just hoofing...might have made a difference

@Nepia allowed to critique refs, but as a neutral I thought he was decent, yeah he made some errors, but I didnt think they were weighted any more in favour of the team in the ascendancy than any other.

Yep, I might moan about a decision here and there but I thought he was good. Game flowed nicely, nothing to be aggrieved about.

It seems there's a bit of a pattern at the Highlanders of every really good player also making a game changing poor decision. Bodes well for next year if they can rub that out but it means guys like Parete can come off the bench and not feel the pressure to be mistake free.
