I hate myself but agree with Kearns about the chip kick.
Backs who do should be shot.
But whn it works...
Kearns is an idiot. Chip kicks are fine if you can execute the skill properly and kick to space. Just ask Jeff Wilson.
Bullshit.
Chip kicks are a sin punishable by eternal damnation (or worse).
Thou shout only be forgiven if thou shall scorest from said damnable sin.
Where a back shall givest away possession to the opposition who are thus given undefended possession on attack such back shall be kicked to death in the next forward practice on the Tuesday following.

You missed a sentence about prime Trans Botha.

Stunning first half. How long till the Reds look for a new coach?

So Brad Thorn is at best a forwards coach? With adults he seems like a complete loser.
Yet the Reds turned in some very good performances at the start of the SR season. And in the SRAU version.
So what has changed? Rodda's departure and some other management shit? Just a bad night?
I think they'll continue to suffer the same inconsistency as any young team regardless of coach.
-
@NTA what's changed is Thorn has inexplicably benched his best halfback all of a sudden - the form halfback in the country.
The 'young side' excuse doesn't really wash when you are in your 3rd year as head coach and get pantsed by a rookie head coach with an equally young side.

Being in your 3rd year is a factor. Turnover in personnel forced on your roster is, as well. Remember the first year was ditching bad influences like Kwade and cleaning house in general.
The Tahs will likely go on to get thrashed in their next game, because they are also a young team.
If the Reds turn around and win this thing, does Thorn suddenly become a good coach?
