@Machpants it’s just terrible watching a halfback with both hands on the ball with it under the last feet for several seconds.

why do they have to stop from driving through just because the 9 has his hands on, any othe rplayer and they can drive right through

Can’t stand that either. We need to go back to the old days, soon as halfback touches the ball, play on.

    It's one or the other.

It's in the ruck and contestable or it's out (and it's contestable)

Hurricanes have only made 76% of their tackles. Need to improve that or the Crusaders will run away with this in the Second Half.

Wasn't it a forward pass to Reece

I think that inside pass needed to be checked.

Paea looked like the QE2 trying to turn on that second Canes try. Skinned.

Watching the highlights it certainly looks like it.

@booboo there was an example about 5 mins before the end of the half, saders forwards were driving over the ball, I think it ended up with just Aumua managing to get behind it, saders had all the momentum and would likely have driven through, TJ got his hands on and all the saders stopped?

But I'm in the 9 has hands on, hes fair game! Whats worse, is if a 6 or 7 (or anyone) steps in to play half, he gets played by opposition and its ok, but if it the guy wearing the 9 jersey, he is protected.

Far be it from me to question coach selections, but Mr Workhard Blackwell is yet to make a tackle (according to rugby pass).

    He’s missed 4.

Maybe the coaches listen to the commentary to make their selections?

Of course they do. Where else would they get any sort of insightful analysis from?

Goodhue has 4 missed tackles, 4 made, one penalty, and a try assist in that half. Very much a mixed bag.

Laumape has 20 metres off 5 runs, 3 tackles made, 2 missed. Solid but defense remains an issue.
