To do two weeks quarantine for a couple of footy matches? Or are you assuming/hoping there will be a Trans Ta$man bubble by then?
I will be surprised if we have a bubble by then, assuming it is in October, right after our Election.

Ozzie will be, as much as us. Boks and Pumas, maybe not so muc. But it will be revenue shared, and those guys are as desperate as us for money

Yeah. We would be heavy favourites though. Home games and quite a bit more decent rugby under the belts.

UK government has announced that spectators will probably be allowed in stadiums from October.
England and Scotland will host internationals in November. (Wales have a problem as their stadium is still on standby as a Nightingale hospital).
Big row coming with UK government if the ABs make themselves unavailable.

No row, and nothing to do with govt. But tests are reciprocal, NH haven't come here, so we don't need to go there. And no way the ABs are going to the plague infested rest of the world anytime soon

World Rugby cancelled the June tests not the WRFU or RFU.
Zero Covid-19 deaths in London the last two days and fewer than an average of one a day in Scotland now. The risk to healthy athletes of COVID-19 in the UK is lower than that of coach travel at the moment, especially if they stick to social distancing and hygine protocols. A Cricket Test is being played this week in Manchester.

Except that recently several players and staff from Premiership teams tested positive.

@sparky it didn't matter who cancelled them, the games are done by reciprocity. Unless we get revenue sharing on the gates, they aren't happening even if covid disappeared overnight. There won't be a row, or anything. UK already planning on playing 6n during that time, the website is irrelevant

@Stargazer Premiership Rugby say the positive tests for 7 players this week (mostly of asymptomatic individuals) "are in line with expectation" given the high volume of testing they are doing and won't delay the first post-lockdown fixture on 14th August.

World Rugby Executive Committee recommends 2020 temporary COVID-19 international calendar
The World Rugby Executive Committee has today recommended a revised temporary 2020 international calendar with the express objective of optimising recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic for the betterment of the global game at all levels.
Seeking to reconcile the interests of the international game, the professional club game and player welfare, temporary windows have been determined following extensive and productive consultation between World Rugby, international competitions, national unions, their professional club competitions and International Rugby Players.
Recognising the importance of a balanced and shared compromise among all stakeholders, a temporary international window between 24 October and 5 December has been recommended. In the north, this window will accommodate the postponed men's and women's Six Nations matches at the end of October, a rest weekend on 7 November and a programme of international matches involving the Six Nations and invited teams hosted in Europe from 14 November through to 5 December.
With COVID-19 restrictions continuing to impact international travel and borders across southern hemisphere unions, on an exceptional basis The Rugby Championship 2020 will be hosted in full in a single country over a reduced six-week period between 7 November and 12 December. Special measures will be implemented to deal with any government-required quarantine period prior to the start of the competition.
The rescheduling of the domestic, European and international calendars will accommodate the ability for the professional clubs to have access to their star southern hemisphere international players for the completion of the postponed and rescheduled 2019/20 seasons at a time in which they would have ordinarily been on international duty in August and September.
The recommendation to temporarily change the Regulation 9 windows will be tabled at a virtual meeting of the World Rugby Council on 30 July. Subject to approval, the full schedule of matches will be announced by the respective union and international competition owners in due course. The current Regulation 9 windows will return to normal after 13 December.
All parties remain committed to continued dialogue regarding long-term men’s and women’s calendar reform that harmonises the international and club environments for the betterment of all.

@Tim a touring NZ A team was in the pipeline apparently before COVID. I heard a while back that a Pacific Island 'best of the rest of SRA' team was now being considered to play the ABs the week or couple of weeks after the North South game. That could evolve into a 3 way ABs, PI team, NZ Maoris series if international rugby is scuppered.

@Nogusta Yep, the All Blacks XV (the current name of NZ A) had already one fixture scheduled: against Fiji, in Canada.
I'd rather see the ABs XV play the ABs and Maori ABs than a PI 'best of the rest SRA' team. The Maori ABs are already the Maori 'best of the rest' team. A third team should be inclusive and not limited to one ethnic group, unless they're planning to add a fourth, inclusive team.

Yay Six Nations, sand then (basically) MOAR six Nations
Also no mention of tier 2 Nations, I guess they can go fuck themselves in the normal way of WR looking after rugby on this world.
