Crusaders v Blues

So the media speculation about Carter possibly playing against the Crusaders was premature. I wonder whether he'll be playing at all in SRA? Probably only if multiple players go down with injury?
I think he'll play - I think expecting him to play this weekend was daft.
Makes much more sense to ease him in next week onwards.
-
@KiwiMurph be to do with his haircut!

Carter was overheard having a discussion with his former Crusader and All Black team mate, “Rangi, we’ve both sold our souls by coming to Auckland, but why don’t I have another hit out with Southbridge so it’s not both of us up against our old team”. “Sure thing DC. We’ve only got the Hurricanes next week, so a nice easy game to get back into it.”

Finlay Christie has a very good quick game but I think he'll be targeted.
I think they would've targeted any of the Blues halfbacks..
Christie's been good off the bench. I would've preferred him to get a start before this match though.

Blackadder, who had major shoulder surgery last year, is set to go under the knife in the next week, after feeling discomfort in his knee, Robertson said.
‘’We really feel for him, he's been through a lot. He just had a wee episode with his knee, something is floating in it. It just locked up a couple of times. The surgeon said he will go inside and have a look.
With Grace likely to miss the remainder of the competition, the Crusaders have brought in Canterbury loose forward Hugh Renton as injury cover.
-
So there may not be two Barretts playing on Saturday, but at some point we may have two Goodhue's, two Havili's, two Ioane's and two (unrelated) Christie's on the paddock.
I hope the commentators do a better job than last Saturday, and include the first names in the commentary, so the camera doesn't zoom in on the wrong players (I noticed that happening, last Saturday).

Meh, not much chance of that from late performances

Bridge to score a try in the corner to win the game.

@Yeetyaah I don't think you should see it as Jordan being dropped. They have a lot of players to chose from and can only name three outside backs in the starting XV; they preferred three other, more experienced players.
It's all about the 23 nowadays. He'll provide great impact from the bench. -
@Duluth that graphic is horrible, 12/13 next to 15?
Annnyway...not so confident in the blues now, did Leon decide since he's playing the crusaders he'd let his old mate Aaron do the selection? Bizarre at 9 and 12.
Pretty bruising looking loose trio though eh.

Must have a plan, otherwise there's no explanation for putting Plummer opposite Goohue.

It’s a real advantage for the Blues. Good size, robust in attack and defence, and not too bad on the ball.
Our back 5 better come ready.
