Come on. Camp fitness is not match fitness.

It would be hollow playing SAF and Argentina, at home, based on camp fitness.

It would be 'content', though. Maybe that's all that matters.

But risky, difficult and expensive to organise, content, IMO.

Anyway. I think the only realistic options on the table is how many Bledisloes they try to organise. Will it be 2, 3 or 4. Will it be home and away? or just in a covid-freeish, crowd capable (at the time of planning) country.

I'm putting forward a way to make a shit idea ( a possible 4 match bledisloe series) into a good idea.

That will cost less than zig-zagging 2 teams over the Ta$man with qurantines for both teams both ways.
Expanded tour squad for midweek matches costs same (in numbers) as 2 test squads travelling home and away.
That will make more money than a behind closed doors match in Sydney.
Gets 6 matches of content instead of 3 or 4.

Aust was to have the 2 home BC tests this year so giving us a second home game would be a concession, particularly if we are the only country allowed crowds.

I agree that a lot of planning would be needed if the RC was held in NZ. One of the most important issues would be kickoff times to satisfy the SA and Arg home markets. Whatever SANZAAR finally chooses will be about maximising revenue through TV broadcasting rights and ticket sales.

The All Blacks’ Bledisloe Cup dates may have been accidentally leaked online, according to a report.

An NZME report said that broadcast partner Sky Sport released a tweet promoting upcoming rugby on the channel.

The tweet included dates for Super Rugby Aotearoa and Australian Super Rugby competitions, which had games confirmed, however at the bottom it included dates for four Bledisloe Cup tests between the All Blacks and the Wallabies.

The dates were October 10 and 17, and November 1 and 8, NZME reported. The tweet was deleted.

NZME understood the first Bledisloe Cup test was tentatively scheduled for October 10 in Wellington, but the other three test dates remained unfixed.

Dave Rennie, former Chiefs coach, has also previously tipped Wellington's Sky Stadium to host the first Bledisloe Cup test of the year on October 10.

However none of the matches had been confirmed by New Zealand Rugby.

Why don't they draw each nz super rugby team out of a hat. One misses out. One gets to be ABs one SA one AUS one Arg.
    Be more competitive

Looks like professional Rugby will return in the UK on 15th August. Leaves the door open for an ABs Northern tour in late November/early December.

Not going to happen unless Wales and Scotland tour NZ first. The SANZAAR teams will want home tests (= money), and in the absence of any revenue sharing agreement, there is little benefit going north this season.

@Bovidae Unless some sort of financial compensation package is put in place by the sponsors/TV companies/World Rugby.

I think you'll see ABs and Aus play each other four times in late September and October. Then travel north to play England & Wales & perhaps SA in the UK too after that.

Are we assuming quarantine restrictions won't be applying by then?

@booboo We can go to England and Uk, and play them fine. It's coming back when the ABs would have to quarantine. If they split the gates it could be worth it, but no way are any NH teams coming here. They don't have the time to do a 2 week quarantine in a hotel before they play

From July 14th travellers from 54 countries to England (including NZ and Aus) will face no quarantine restrictions. Wales will follow.

Spectators aren't yet allowed in stadiums, but the RFU are confident that by October/November stadiums will be partial open.

The ABs would have to face quarantine on their way back to NZ.

And if Uncle Winston has his way then NZR would have to foot the bill.

@Number-10 Total madness. The NZ Government should be helping arguably NZ's most recognisible brand globally, not putting barrier after barrier in their way.

I'd be trying to arrange an AB-SA game for November at Wembley with a 50-50 revenue share. You'd sell 90,000 tickets within minutes once restrictions are removed.

If, God forbid, there are no AB tests this year, that'll be the first year of no test rugby for the All Blacks since . . . 1948.

The NFL London games aren't happening in 2021 so there'll be more weekends when Wembley is available.

The more you look at it a 5 nations mini-tournament involving SA, Aus, NZ in England & Wales in November/early December makes huge financial sense.

I doubt there will be crowds in UK in November.

Would not make financial sense to organize a tournament for the 3 teams on the other side of the world at time of predicted second wave, with likely no crowds. Couldn't insure that kind of recklessness. Exposed to huge potential (likely) losses.

Going to Japan in November might make sense, if repeatedly playing Oz doesn't appeal (it doesn't). But JRFU look to be getting involved in the 8 team comp RFU are trying to organize.

@Smudge heard talk of ABs playing a match against a NZ 'best of the rest' side following the North/South game so there'll be that at least!

If cases keep going down in the UK, restrictions will ease further. All rumour but UK government is looking at allowing sport in stadiums with some spectators from September/October
