A suitably downbeat, shrug-of-the-shoulders, piece of music for when your team loses...

Listen, I can’t offer much as a supporter except certainty that my club will consistently underperform, lose its best players to freak injuries and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in infuriating ways.

Sounds like a natural Blues fan of the last 17 years. If you love having your heart ripped out, see bone headed plays from talented players, watch people consistently underperform, you've probably missed the boat, but there's always a fear we'll regress.

Despite the great press, we haven't actually done much of note yet. Don't get me wrong, we're clearly vastly improved, but it's a long tough road to winning anything meaningful.

@Machpants strong recommendation. Can’t get over them basically being NZ’s equivalent of the Sharks. Even have a du Plessis. And for reasons I don’t now really remember, I can’t stand Riccitelli.

supporting the canes is only for people who love the idea of a wank, enjoy the wank, but then stop before they finish and walk away ultimately unsatisfied.

@Bones there’s some strong arguments being made for the blues. If they lose in an agonizing way this weekend, you’ll know that I convinced myself that Michael Jones and Zinzan neutralized the corruption of Fitzpatrick, Robin Brook, Flavell etc. Etc etc.

@Smuts plenty of room on teh bandwagon too. From only 8-10,000 to nearly 40,000 as soon as the team gets successful ... get on board I say!

@nzzp I think blues fans have suffered long enough. I’m quite tempted to inflict myself on the crusaders. I think I might enjoy watching those bastards lose a heartbreaker to a dodgy call.

Andrew Mehrtens was born in Durban so qualifies as a Saffa.

I don't count him, he didn't immigrate here, he just came for pro rugby. And he was average. And he played for Harbour. And he was a Ginga.
